Author Topic: Stop using MediaFire as download links please!!  (Read 10673 times)

MediaFire is stuff that is all I have to say... Dropbox is holy

"Just use an Adblocker which doesn't even work for Mediafire all the time" as opposed to people not using dumb websites while there are so many other choices.
Even with Adblock as soon as I click the link on the Mediafire download it opens a new popup page. Not to mention the time it takes to open the download page for no reason - except the loads of crap Adblock has to block.
One could even use Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or anything of the matter of cloud storage and provide better service for the users and even for themselves due to how easy it is to manage and upload, along with keeping everything in one organized place which can even be made as a public folder.

Why are people still not using uBlock origin? It works perfectly.

I have noticed the Adblocker in Chrome isn't as good as the one in Firefox.
Some websites I use daily still give ads when I use them at a friend who uses Chrome.

Never have I ever encountered an ad on Mediafire or even a blank pop-up window, and I use that site a lot of the time.
Maybe because I also have an account on there which I am always logged in.

The people whom encounter those ads, are you possibly using Chrome?

Only happened the first time, subsequent download links it didn't happen.

Just tried a few Mediafire links, using Google Chrome with uBlock Origin. The first time I downloaded something it opened up some page with a fullscreen advertisement and an "about:blank" page replacing the download page after the download itself had started. The next few times all that happened was the page being replaced with "about:blank."

I've never had any problems with MediaFire.
U guys are losing ur marbles.

I have reasons to believe people in this thread would even defend RapidShare if it was still around.

Some people still defend MegaUpload:

Google drive and dropbox are my go to file sharing services

if it's not happening to me, clearly they must be crazy

Right clicking on the button and pressing "Open" prevents this. At least for me

I think you're thinking of megaupload, which was taken down
awww did it? now i can't pirate video games anymore

Some people still defend MegaUpload:

i remember clicking on megaupload links and the FBI or whatever thing would pop up

That's what I use. I have this problem. I have found a flaw in your logic.
