Author Topic: surprisingly blockland has not gotten half off  (Read 1343 times)

idk why but this summer sale the blockland sales price has stayed at like 6.27$

Were you just expecting handouts?

We all know old Badspot is a cashcow.

Just like everyone else.

well I noticed blockland wasn't much advertised on steam store homepage this year, unlike in summer 2014 when it was choosen in the community's choice vote

yea it sucks that we'll probably never have that number of players ever again unless a miracle happens

Badspot probably got tired of all the alts on the forums

sucks that it didn't, I was thinking of getting it for my nephew. got him Dino d-day instead

Blockland has a stuffty rep on Steam, too. The reviews reached overwhelmingly negative for a brief amount of time, and some of the negative reviews are just plain misleading or just plain handicapped. Theres also the fact that the Steam users havent been around long enough with Blockland like we have and they havent seen any major updates or something, so they declare that Blockland is dead(Which is a self fufilling prophecy) and whine about the lack of updates.

our only hope is popular gameplay videos of the good servers of blockland

for this to work we need both: popular videos and good servers

but most of all, an actual god damn update to counter the bad reviews

i think the only update that is truly necessary is the hosting-crash and loading-freeze things

And Workshop. You can't forget about Workshop.

We need better servers if we want more players, and to get better servers we need to give players more content to be able to use. A big part of that is builds.. nobody releases builds. Builds are fundamental to a server compared to add-ons because they're the first thing you see and give a gigantic first-impression on your server. If the build is stuffty or doesn't tone your server how it is supposed to, the server isn't going to be as good. Brickitect makes a bajillion builds and changes projects so much, I can't tell which ones he's working on anymore. Same with cohort. These things have been worked on for years, hyped up while being worked on, and then slowly die out, never to be released. I think people need to learn some project management.

Granted, some of the bigger servers out there have rather stuffty builds. As much as we need people to build and release the saves, we also need plentiful add-ons. Another issue is guns. We have lots, yes.. but none of them are themed except for a couple weapon packs. We need more packs so that servers have consistency when they decide to use specific packs. We ALSO need more random items. For example, I'm trying to make a DayZ esque server, and it's going perfectly well, however I need random, useless items that have a chance of popping out of things you loot so it's not a DM where every garbage bin has a gun inside of it.
