WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, on Tuesday said the F.B.I. is recommending no charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a personal email server while secretary of state.

Mr. Comey said “no reasonable prosecutor” would bring a case against Mrs. Clinton for her handling of classified information on her private server. But he said Mrs. Clinton and her staff were “extremely careless” in their use of email.

The F.B.I.’s recommendation to the Justice Department will have an enormous impact on the presidential election.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch said on Friday that she would accept whatever recommendation she received from the F.B.I.

To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.

yes i am also angry that people who know more about this stuff then i do have declared hillary should be not indicted i am peeved that my view of these events is incomplete which means that i can not come to an informed conclusion on whether hillary should be indicted or not

This isn't a conformation, it's merely just a recommendation to not have her indicted. The Justice Department still needs to make their judgement on this case, and with all of the evidence against her, it is possible she can still get indicted.

This should come at no surprise to anyone that knows what they were considering indicting her for. The claim was that she was using her personal email server for sending and receiving classified information, which is a felony.

However, the State Department had recovered and combed through all of her emails months ago, so if they were ever going to indict her, it would have been then.

That's not what he said. He said that an ordinary government employee (read: an underling) would receive sanctions or disciplinary actions for doing the same thing that Hillary did. Neither Hillary nor an underling would be indicted for this because professional incompetence is not necessarily a crime.
