It's a logical fallacy because there's no reason or evidence to suggest that militarized police will lead to a police state other than "it is a prerequisite". It's the equivalent of saying "we shouldn't have gay marriage because it will lead to inter-species marriage" which was a real thing

there's absolute reason and evidence to suggest that militarized police will lead to a police state, look at national socialist-Germany, they took the citizens guns away, armed the stuff out of their soldiers, and then went to conduct genocide and enforce a dictatorship/totalitarianistic country.

While the BLM protestors were running and screaming for their lives the police were the only ones actually trying to protect the BLM protestors.
