did you know

at 1/1000th of a light-year away our sun would look like a regular star in the sky

at 90 light-years away our sun would disappear because our sun is pretty small compared to most stars.

BUT, almost all of the stars we see in our night sky are 90+ light-years away. meaning all of those stars that we see and marvel at at night.... if there were to be life in any of those systems... they cant see us back
can people be as gobsmacked at this as i was

like this is kind of depressing tbh

not when people realize the sun is loving tiny

yeah

there's an even bigger star out there: UY Scuti

those 2 stars are the biggest known stars

the sun is loving tiny but you forgot its main sequence
its gonna get wayyy bigger

the sun is loving tiny but you forgot its main sequence
its gonna get wayyy bigger

yeah in three billion years

the sun is loving tiny but you forgot its main sequence
its gonna get wayyy bigger
