Author Topic: Next year the Shaders Update will be 5 years old  (Read 4695 times)

Yup, released on August 2012 the Shaders update will be 5 years old next year, I still remember all the hype for it's release back then like it was yesterday, how come time can pass so fast like that? I'm not sure if I should be concerned or worried or both.

What's your thoughts on the matter?

uh oh i'm starting to get gray hairs now

Between ugly and buggy ass terrain and 1992 shaders, i'd have to go with the maps.

get these dam kids off my baseplates

why not wait till next year to make the topic

I mainly wanted to talk about how time flies so fast we barely notice it.

I feel old even though I'm still only 14
ever since the shadows update I can't stop thinking back to blockland before v21, and generally started my entire awareness of how time changes things overtime
idk if I'm thankful for that or not either

Nah, they were totally loving useless. The only nice terrain/map was the Slopes since that's where the skis worked. Other than that all they did was provide some physical background to builds.

build wise slate was by far the best place to build; maps really never went well with bricks. that being said they had a charm of their own and exploration of big maps by respected users was fun in its own aspect. mike's house, GTA maps by GSF, under construction, autumn pond, that desert highway map: i remember having fun just jetting around the map and looking for secrets

that being said, i am fine with them being gone; its just a shame that we lost that part of blockland's feel.

i also liked how maps repeated, but bricks are finite and must ghost :P

four years and people are still complaining about maps being removed

I love shaders but imo they won't be completely worth it until lights are improved. I want to be able to make windowless boxes and not have it be dim and gray inside.
