Author Topic: Next year the Shaders Update will be 5 years old  (Read 4703 times)

My problem is that i've still yet to see anything awesome or game changing aside from the shadows and shaders that would have warranted the removal of terrains and interiors

The shadows don't even work with Intel GPUs, right? Is that just Intel in general, even if they're newer/more powerful, or is it just old potato quality GPUs? So those people who are too poor to upgrade got shafted by that, and various other people got shadows that were too much for their GPU to handle, thus restricting them to the lower/disabled settings where you just end up with blobs

I want the cool stuff that we were told terrains and interiors were removed to make way for

And i'd still like for the new Steam players to not feel like they wasted a few bucks on a dead/terrible game (dead/terrible from their perspective, of course) :(
pretty much this.

this game rapidly died off for me after shaders came out, i'm trying to get back into it though
This plus RTB

If only playing an edited version of Blockland V20 with it's own master server and being non proffitable woudn't be an issue..

This plus RTB
I loved RTB though, It made it easier for everyone to get mods, plus it was like steam, you could msg people, and make chat rooms. Then I saw the msg saying that they were closing RTB.

Could someone host a funeral for maps and RTB?

Could someone host a funeral for maps and RTB?
I think that already happened, to host one now would be very late

Woah its been (almost) 4 years already.
Damn it's hard to believe almost half of my blockland experience has been with the shader update. Dude thats a long time.
I feel like I have more memories pre v21 though I guess that's just my brain playing tricks on me.
<3 this game :)

edit: The reason terrain and interiors were great is because they provided an easy way for people to make maps. True, they may have been a lazy solution in some cases, but a lot of people are understandibly not willing to take the time and effort to create massive maps by brick. It's a lot of work.

Terrain also provided a large variation of steepness which allowed for smoother driving.
