It was a marketing strategy by Sony to actually get people to start thinking everyone is loveist.

Tom Rothman was instigating it.

The original cast of ghost busters was forced to show up or they get sued. This document has been linked.

this is actually true

Imagine if feminational socialists and BLM work together one day

Can we just forget about this movie and move on?

Like I can't believe how a forgetin Ghostbusters movie has become the most politically charged movie of the year, anyone who takes sides on this controversy is wasting their time

They'd probably read 1984 as a manual

I don't actually understand the internet hate machine's goal with this. Internet people feel like the claims of loveism and racism used to defend the movie are illegitimate, so they send the worst possible tribal and loveist vitriol possible over twitter, thus legitimizing all of those claims.

It's like Anita Sarkeesian all over again. You guys are angry about people holding a victim complex, so you go out of your way to convince everyone that they actually are victims. Brilliant loving strategy. From the perspective of normal people, it's not 'political correctness out of control' when people see a black celebrity getting called a gorilla over social media.

God what a horrible person, calling everyone tribal!  Let's see what she says about everyone, that bitch!

Oh wait, she's fighting back against racism she's on the receiving end of?

But surely this must be for some reaso--

B-But it's probably to bring attention to the movie!

Well no stuff if an actor in a movie is making headlines it's very likely the headlines will say "(Movie) star (actor) facing (social dilemma worth covering in news)".  That's how media works.

I know this forum likes to be edgy with inhumane stuff but my point is do even like one google search and at least skim the headlines, then maybe if you feel like actually being a little bit more educated, read up and understand the context.

Exactly.  It's a really stupid cycle festering from internet hate machine circlejerking.

she would have come out ahead if she didnt cry about it. haters will spam you no matter where you go on the internet. simply not replying to them makes them non existent basically.
how many "fake"s and "gay"s are on youtube that we dont even see anymore because we choose not to lol.

though she dosnt have much right to be feeling upset about racism right now. she played a super token ass stereotyped black character in a bombed movie.
she should be ashamed as all forget.

I'm a big fan of "shut off the computer if you're cyberbullied and go outside," but I think her intention is to highlight the issue rather than just let it lie and continue to fester.  If she didn't want to deal with this, you can literally turn off seeing strangers interactions with you in your notifications on Twitter, but that doesn't stop them from replying to her tweets (which she can still see on her posts regardless of the setting) or simply tweeting at her.

Would she have come out ahead if she didn't say anything?  Probably yeah, but it's a little more than haters when it's a massive tidal wave of 4chan users using stufftweeting accounts to send harsh messages of hate to a actual targeted person (don't know what that means) person.  It's funny laughing on the bleachers next to them but in reality it's pretty forgeted up.

I think the biggest motivator for her is the fact that race issues are like the #1 topic right now, and that Twitter sucks at preventing or at least doing a little bit of policing considering Instagram is prohibiting any snake emojis being posted on Taylor Swift's posts.  Entirely different social media platforms but it still causes anger for anyone who feels that racism is prevalent in the world.

There's been plenty of black people in media that have done the same, some have and some haven't received the same treatment I'd imagine but I can't be arsed to back that up because I don't really care enough about the movie itself to talk about her character.
