Nintendo’s Next Mobile Apps: Building on the positive consumer reaction to Miitomo, Nintendo announced that its next two mobile apps would be based on the familiar and beloved Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing franchises. Nintendo plans to release both of these applications this autumn.

As for the former app, while making it more accessible in comparison to the Fire Emblem games for Nintendo’s dedicated gaming systems, Nintendo aims to offer the great value of a role-playing strategy game. Nintendo will design the latter game so that it will be connected with the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems. By playing both Animal Crossing games, users will find increased enjoyment.

Both of these are pure game applications. Compared to Miitomo, they have more prominent game elements, and the game content will tie closely into Nintendo’s dedicated games business. Nintendo will provide more details about these applications closer to their launch period, and aims to have multiple types of apps that appeal to different audiences and different groups of players.

Will the new AC app make bell farming less of a grind?

>fire emblem
aaaaaaa yeeesssssssss

Regarding Animal Crossing, for those unaware, there is an update after four years since its release to New Leaf to add Amiibo support, and furthermore there is a future Splatoon event going along with it, however as far as I know this is Japan only unless stated otherwise.

Anyways I hope that this Animal Crossing app isn't going to be a slog or whatever like Farmville or whatever is, I'm hoping for the best but I don't even know what the app is going to be like anyway - same with Fire Emblem.

don't get hyped just yet
mobile versions of popular series usually turn into micro-transaction festivals
don't expect anything more than something that barely resembles the series and if something better comes out of it, it'll be a nice surprise instead of a huge dissapointment

i couldn't find a way to make micro-transaction-fests sound good so i just went with festivals
also if this is a reference or joke of some sort i don't get it

Well, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival was what I thought you were referencing, a game of empty-feeling transactions, not resembling the series in much else besides presentation, and I was applauding you for a clever comparison-- well uhh, still, your point stands firm.

Great now tom nook is going to be after my real money too

you overestimated my abilities

this is just like nintendo, jumping on its mobile success with "this worked once lets just keep doing this yes thanks im comfortable with the same"

i have a grave feeling it will end up being pretty identifiably similar to pokego
