Author Topic: No Man's Sky could be delayed again.  (Read 3128 times)

I can imagine the next excuse if they delayed it again:

"Our lead programmer broke the toilet and stuff went everywhere in our office bathroom, yes we're delaying the game more so we can have time to fix and clean this mess, please understand."
>gets delayed to oktober

This game looks awesome, can't wait for it to release
Finally, a game that is about exploration, and discovering new things and being an adventurer, yet still manages to fit some PvP in there.
And everybody is already crapping all over it even though it hasn't even been released yet

im worried it's gonna be starbound 2: this time with no coop

poor guys cant seem to catch a break. they seem really excited about releasing the game but stuff like this keeps popping up. pretty unfortunate.

It seems really loving dumb that you can copyright the application of maths.
copyright and patenting are two totally different things
however, I agree that patents are awful

They're not so awful when it stops a massive corporation from stealing your clever business idea and stopping you from becoming a multimillionaire, but patent trolling and holding patents just to stop people from creating something is incredibly counter productive. Two bladed sword I guess.

however, I agree that patents are awful
People would not invest into things like novel product design or drug research if they couldn't patent the result and sell it for money.

In other words, patents are great. Patent trolls suck.

stopping you from becoming a multimillionaire
not really that high on my "list of things that matter", but I guess I wouldn't prefer some other company to make that money either

well, that's fair enough. maybe I shouldn't say patent law itself is bad, but it's a flaky workaround to a ridiculous problem. same for copyright

I don't mind patents and such, I understand their usage.

But having control over a mathematical theorem seems crazy, given it's a fundamental part of reality. It was never created/invented, it was discovered.
To me it would be like someone going to a new land, discovering a new vegetable or animal, and then telling people what they can and can not do with it.

They confirmed there will be no more delays lol. No Man's Sky went gold last month. And they said even with all the floods and crap, they wouldn't delay it any further and keep on going.

I like how in the entire article, the only one claiming there will be a delay is the author of the article.

Maybe they can make it have content during this downtime?
