They just copy/paste things that haven't been rebooted in a while, and when they do, it's in that style. I swear there are 3-4 other cartoons that have this art style.

Like it can be done right (Motorcity for example), but everybody continues to use it in a lazy manner. It does make sense, it's easier and cheaper to do it that way rather than make actual quality animation with more effort put into it.

usually when people say CG they think of 3d animation. it's obviously not 3D so "Computer animated" might be a better word
