cold, dark and damp.

A couple years ago there were black mushrooms growing in the living room of my house. We changed the carpet into wood in most of the house.

Clean that stuff up, boy.

air out the bathroom often - open a window for a few hours. just not overnight

because you live in a grass hut in the middle of the woods

I don't have a window in my bathroom.

I don't have a window in my bathroom.
Do you have an extractor fan? There must be some form of ventillation in a bathroom otherwise the room remains humid/damp after showers/baths.
This humidity/dampness lets mould and other fungi grow. The can cause respiratory issues.
