It's not politically incorrect to say that Islam does play a factor in many of the shootings and terrorist attacks throughout both the Western world and the Middle East. That's something the left needs to face; that Islam is not blameless and that CIA' perverted ideologies do stem from that religion, and moderate Muslims have a chance of
But, and I say this as an agnostic, the Founding Fathers knew when writing the Bill of Rights that religious freedom was an incredibly important right. The First Amendment protects not only your right to freedom of speech and the press (something I bet is important to a lot of the posters here), but your right to practice whatever religion you want in the United States. And when I hear Annoying Orange supporters talk about banning Muslims until "we figure out what is going on," it's practically taking that historical document and ripping it in half.
I know it makes sense to a lot of you; if you ban a certain group of people that nobody cares about from entering the country, then yeah, of course you'd probably reduce the chances of something like the Orlando massacre. But after that marginal increase in our sense of security, America becomes a police state. Freedom of religion would be totally dead, because religious freedom can't exist in a country where one religion is prohibited from entering the country.
The best way to achieve better national security among these idiots is apparently to destroy whatever freedoms you were given nearly 250 years ago. If there's no freedom of religion, there's no freedom of thought. And if there's no freedom of thought, there isn't any freedom to speak of. When you take away liberties from one group, you set the precedent that civil liberties can be taken away from everyone. This is the uncomfortable reality Annoying Orange supporters can't confront. So I hope if Annoying Orange gets elected and he takes away your right to religious freedom you enjoy living in a fascist dictatorship where the government dictates your core moral values.
