basic guides on how to do stuff on the BLF right here

the offscreen signature guys
have you ever wondered why someone's signature looks like this:

you're probably thinking "whoa, how the forget are they off the screen"
well, here's the thing. if a width tag isn't included on the img part of a signature, images sorta stretch off screen. because of this, you can make it seem like something appears off the signature.

how do you do it? it's simple:
you need to check how far spaced the signature is from the end, border included. for me, it's 644 pixels, i'm not sure if it's the same for all resolutions. you can check with a tool like sharex, use the region capture tool, click and drag and stretch it across from where a image starts to the end of the border. what ever W:
  • is, is how wide it is.

once you've calculated that, open up a tool like paint.net (preferred, but whatever you can use that works), and make the image how many pixels you calculated wide, with a height of whatever you damn well want. this guide's gonna be for paint.net so idk what to do for other tools

now that you've done that, fill in the entire thing with a color. any color.

this is your signature zone. here, you can store whatever images you want. this space can be increased later using the tool i mention.

what you need to do now, is set your secondary color to something transparent.

your secondary color basically needs to have an alpha opacity of 0. this makes it fully transparent. now, go to image, then canvas size, or press ctrl+shift+r.

on that screen, you should see a bunch of stuff. there's a couple things you need to do:

set 'maintain aspect ratio' to off (uncheck it). this prevents it from auto resizing your height for you based on how you change width.
your anchor should be left or topleft. anything else and it'll move the current image to the right or down or whatever loving direction.

basically, it should look like this:

now then. you want to increase the width by 200 pixels. you can increase this number later based on how much space you need. once you've done that, click OK.

see that big empty space? this is where you put what you want to be outside of the signature. put anything you want there. be it a meme, a sprite, anything, really.

once you've done what you want to the right, put whatever you want to the left to be your signature stuff, or just delete it altogether if you want only the non-signature side.

perfect.

now, just save the image as whatever, upload it to a image host, and put it in your sig!

that's how it should look! if you want, you can erase the 2 pixels of the left side so your black border remains. otherwise, you're good! enjoy!

userscripts
userscripts are things that change a website to make it better (or worse). the blockland forums has a couple (made by steve5451, he's a cool dude) that enhance the experience and make it much better for you.

to install them, you'll need tampermonkey (chrome, opera (beta), firefox). install it, and you can start doing these.

click the titles bolded to install them.

that post isn't new!
this is ESSENTIAL if you wanna know if a topic's new or not if you've posted in it. the blockland forums got a update that broke things and essentially made it so a topic will still be marked as new, even if you've already posted in it and read it. this userscript fixes all of it.

link embedder

this allows various links to be embedded into the forums without leaving the page. lots are supported, including youtube, soundcloud, vocaroo, imgur albums, and direct-link webms.

user blocker
oh no, someone spamming the forums again? is a user hurting your precious feelings? never fear, this allows you to block a user's posts, replacing them with 'show garbage' instead of the actual text.

to block someone, click on someone's username, then click the block button at the topright of the user's page.

to unblock them, do the same thing again.

again, these are all made by steve5451 and work amazingly. don't praise me for those, praise him.

i'll writeup more guides on request if need be, maybe even a newbie guide if it's needed.
