Um, no. You're wrong. You don't have to have love reassignment surgery to be considered trans. FtM and MtF are just indicators of what transition someone is going through OR went through as a disambiguator.

Um then why is it called "Male 2 female" then? How the forget is a normal person suppose to keep up with all these gender rules if you people keep making it confusing.

You're completely misunderstanding the meaning of those terms. When I talk to transgender people I don't call them MtF or FtM, I call them male or female. MtF and FtM are just terms to describe the direction of a transition; and are only really used if the context of the conversation has to do with transition. It's makes perfectly good sense if you actually thought about it for half a second.

I'm not of the opinion that people who make incorrect assumptions (about gender, or anything else) are automatically bad. I understand some people do this, I do not.

I do however believe that people who make stupid assumptions, are probably stupid.

There is a good chance 50% or more of the 1% are those Tumblr transvestites.
