Arlien: Isolation from the outside world is wreaking havoc on the population of Arlien, as its population's size outgrows its economic ability to absorb new workers.  [ECN : -2]
As this happens, the new Ship technology is finished, and immediately begins to set sail to the West, South, and North.

Oh golly I forgot to finish my application and now I'm addicted to Warframe. I'll get back on it ASAP, Swat and Pleth

The League completes the incorporation of the recent acquisitions. Due to the fact that these lands were technically conquered, there is increasingly federalist sentiment within the current Tertahlon rule of the League. Nevertheless, the infrastructure of these new lands has recovered by now. The new tribes will now get to enjoy the honorable politics, safer roads, superior economy, and welcoming provincial interdependence one may find within the League.

The SLTC (Second League Trading Company) begins to fund certain coastal villages, slowly but surely converting them into regional micro-hubs of trade. A miniscule merchant navy is invested in, and attempts are made at creating formal diplomatic relations with the isles of northeast and northwest Zoko-Niskrenok. Trade is offered as well, of course.

The senate suffers no casualties from the plague.  Many outside the senate building, however, perish from the plague before it eventually runs its course and passes into other parts.

The Senate lowers the quarantine among the capital as the plague shifts out from the city and puts some money aside to create countermeasures to combat such sickness again for those living in the city.

The Senate also sends some men out to tally up the report of the casualities that the plague had brought about before troops are gathered and moved to head west to the people around the lake as they seemed to have ignored the earlier ultimatum to join them, attempting to sandwich them from the south and east.

A small warband of three thousand troops is sent to scout in that direction alongside some diplomats, in order to make first contact with the nation and hopefully establish an embassy and some trade.
The warband finds itself at the doorstep of a Neslait scouting post.  The scouts are very alarmed by the presence of a massive warband from seemingly nowhere.  They attempt to make contact in what seems like two different languages in attempts to establish communication.  Three horsemen ride out in various directions to the south.

More attempts are made to find scholars, even asking some local tribes if they would accept a cash offering for their smarter members.
The attempts are relatively successful.  Many scholars with good potential are gathered in one place.

Some diplomats are sent out to known tribes to improve relations.
The tribes seem glad that their more powerful neighbor has not forgotten about them.

The northern expedition lands on the large continent with little in the way of supplies.  Tribes with pointy sticks observe them hungrily.  The southern expedition is caught up in a storm and sinks at sea.  The western expedition runs aground at the large island to the west of Arlien as strong winds push them toward the island.

Thanks.

The tribes are incorporated very quickly and successfully in the economic and political realm, but a social and cultural divide exists.  Over 20 years, this has developed into an estate system.  Rumors of slavery existing within the nation involving citizens at either end of the whip begin to reach public discussion.  The representative council is now involved in more than tepid debate about institutionalizing this system.

The conversion of these ports is reasonably successful, but it found to be quite the expense when compared to a new and unified road network in the lowlands.  The trade offers are well-received.

The death toll, while not exact, is expected between 12,000 and 21,000.  The Senate's quarantine efforts, while effective in keeping disease away, left the people, including several clan oligarchs and sub-garchs feeling as if left to their own devices.  Many concur the Senate may have been a mistake.  While this temper cools down over time, the sentiment remains in some parts of the vast nation.

The people around the lake surrender in order to preserve their lives, but make only one demand—that they be permitted to preserve their own culture even if subservient to new administrators.

The Grithese are receptive to the offer, but don't ultimately consider it sufficient to make them join the BCU, especially given concerns over war between the Sun and Moon in the near future, and unsettling talk of unification of the tribes under the banner of the Moon.  It is clear, however, that should Erinaum overcome Belenia, the Githese will be open to peaceful relations and possible friendship so long as their own sovereignty isn't in question.  In the meanwhile, they wish to discuss a separate trade agreement; a number of their merchants wish to obtain exclusive rights to import a number of foreign luxuries from the far South into Erinaum, and indicate that they have already cemented a similar relationship with Belenia.
Bvatnjao, one of the three Consuls of Erinaum, comes forth to Ðanei, the capital of Griđaš.  Bvatnjao expresses that Griđaš will receive those rights as well as very good representation in the BCU.  Similar consuls from BCU member states also agree that their participation and loyalty will be instrumental in securing the region under the crest.

Forty years ago, consuls did not exist within the BCU, and Erinaum has made every effort to provide member states with fair representation.  These consuls will allow the Griđese with similar trade deals with every BCU member state as long as they end their relationship with Belenia.

With the coronation of a new Ivek in Erinaum, the royal family begins to promise a systematic change to the representative system, adding new tiers to allow for regions to be involved with inner-ring politics.

The Senate ensures the people that they simply wanted to maintain and even try to contain the plague so it wouldn't spread and wreak havoc along most of the countryside. They also wanted to try and make sure that they could save many of the city-goers, as there are many people there in such close contact that spreading and death of the disease might've gone rampant without intervention, and those seeking to flee the plague might've simply spread it.

With this said,, the people around the lake are permitted their demand, as they're allowed their culture to be preserved as they wish, though will lead to a more watchful eye upon the region.

Byartalena now settles down for a while, working on improving the internal infrastructure of the nation and putting some funding and help towards the research of new ships, for further sailing and better fishing, as well as coastal raiding.

Syncretic Man did not fight for its liberty just so that it could become enslaved by itself. Slavery is hereby declared a crime against the Zeymah Niskrenok, and all enslaved citizens of the League are to be freed henceforth. Military-based enforcers from Tertahlon are used. Federalist sentiment grows.

Within Tertahlon, the ruling class begins shifting towards the mimicry of the pan-Zeymah culture seen in texts and artifacts from the days of the first League. The concept of a federal military is worked on. It would operate out of Tertahlon, and would use a mix of Tertahlon-specific and pan-Zeymah military tradition. Recruits would be drawn from throughout the League. The Grand Imperator pushes for it.

The SLTC continues its capitalist ambitions. Roadwork is funded, as coastal hubs are useless if they themselves cannot trade. A medium naval expedition is organized, and sent west. A sort of ablative naval convoy is created to keep the expeditionary force on its toes until it's about halfway to the island. It begins its journey as a grand fleet, and all crewmen and ships maintain themselves with supplies from outer supply ships. When these ships are exhausted of rations, they're sent back. The same happens to the next grouping of supply ships, and the next, right until the expeditionary fleet itself is left. The extra storage space made possible by this convoy is used to bring along supplies for the construction of a defensible settlement, and settlers. Settlers are predominantly freed slaves.

The tribes seem glad that their more powerful neighbor has not forgotten about them.
The tribes are asked if they would like to form an alliance with our nation to protect from possible invasion.

The scouting party is to go back, leave behind 2,500 men, and bring some scholars with them to try and learn their language to communicate better.

Some money and workers are put into trying to make a more fire-proof building for the scholars to meet and reside in.

Tis' only a scoutting mission in the North, and the ship sails off when they have gathered the appropriate amount information of the land, they sail back. The Western expedition was met with questioning, only to be ordered to go back out. The Southern expedition experiences a wild storm, and falls under the sea.

The Jakoguns send the first battle chariots to the slavakian expedition.

The people don't buy it and cast the blame anyways.  (The result was tailored for such a response anyways.)

With this said, the people around the lake are permitted their demand, as they're allowed their culture to be preserved as they wish, though will lead to a more watchful eye upon the region.
The inhabitants are complacent with the new government, and comply peacefully, and continue about their lives, however, upon further inspection, the government reports that a small number of their tribal practices violate Byartaleni law.

The wealthy, now former slaveholders begin to raise small militias to prevent an alleged encroachment of tyranny.

The ship lands at the island to meet many angry men with axes.  With much enthusiasm of having been freed and chosen for an expedition of glory, they fend off the natives, conquer and subdue them, and proudly build their first settlement.

The tribes are asked if they would like to form an alliance with our nation to protect from possible invasion.
The words are met with hesitation as they state that things are moving too quickly.  They say that they have so far been defending themselves well against neighboring rival tribes.

The scouting party is to go back, leave behind 2,500 men, and bring some scholars with them to try and learn their language to communicate better.
The scholars arrive and begin to translate the languages, finding them of two separate language families, and wonders how such a society could stand with such a cultural and linguistic divide.

Some money and workers are put into trying to make a more fire-proof building for the scholars to meet and reside in.
This measure, the scholars deem a good investment, upon learning the reason for much stone being hauled into the capital.

The men fight their hardest to escape from the cannibalistic tribes, and are able to get away with 60% of the original crew, many of them injured.  At sea, many die from their wounds and a lack of supplies causes the crew to either starve or resort to cannibalism.  Only two crew members return, covered in fleas and—     very much changed in mind.

The Western expedition was met with questioning, only to be ordered to go back out.
The boat cannot leave as it has been made unusable against the rocks of the island.  Remarkably, the crew is fine and has set up camp on top of the bluffs.

Sorry, what expedition?

The Griđese are unwilling to consider joining the BCU at this point, and look only to form arrangements which won't strongly entangle them in the Erinamese-Belenese conflict (especially to the Ezbatan camp given their current working relationship with the Belenese).  They don't see unifying the region as particularly suited to their interests, and as one highly placed official voices, "Very good representation in the BCU, which may be overturned in the name of the BCU, is worth less than complete representation under our own sovereignty."

After months of preparation, Avalonia sends out ambassadors to the ethnically Avalonian clans not within the Union, calling for them to join.  They go bearing gifts for both the common man and Clan heads, and are given the authority to negotiate, if not for joining, at least for trade and increased openness and communication.  The clans aren't put under undue pressure by threats or any such means, but encouraged by the examples of formerly lesser clan heads who have risen to greater prosperity and stability through association and entry into the Union.
This was quoted in a mass update, but never addressed.

The Imperator is not to be questioned. The League's military is raised and marched though the restless former slaveholders' lands, striking a simple message: disband the mercenary regiments.

Naval activity kicks up in support of the settlers in the west. Hand-picked soldiers looking for a new lease on life are given spots on the second wave of settlers, along with engineers and SLTC officials. This colony will develop quite nicely.

Requests are also sent for the documentation of the savages' race. Are they descended from our ancestors? Are they too syncretic Man? Or are they purely mortal man from a foreign land?

some wise and learned lawmakers are brought over as well as a "peacekeeping" force as a sit down is arranged with local elders to discuss some of these tribes practices, ways to make them comply with Byartaleni law, and/or compromises.

Meanwhile, work on boats continues as some adventerous folks continue looking yearningly out to the sea to raid and fish. Additionally some ships are commissioned to be made for the purposes of strengthening their whaling trade.
