(not entirely new but worth reporting)

During a preseason game against Green Bay, Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand when it came time for the usual pregame ceremony of playing the national anthem. He had done this once before at another preseason game, both times fully aware of what he was doing. When asked why he did this, he said:
Quote from: Colin Kaepernick
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."
The consequences are already starting to pop up. There have emerged several videos of fans burning Kaepernick jerseys, including one fan doing it in time with the national anthem, and Kaepernick himself has been decried by several different people, including former 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.

The 49ers has gone on record saying:
Quote from: San Francisco 49ers
"The national anthem is and always will be a special part of the pre-game ceremony. It is an opportunity to honor our country and reflect on the great liberties we are afforded as its citizens. In respecting such American principles as freedom of religion and freedom of expression, we recognize the right of an individual to choose and participate, or not, in our celebration of the national anthem."

isnt his wife one of of the higher ups in BLM?
also a little off topic but the only other time i've heard this guys name is that "he converted to islam in the off-season" or something

all in all this guy is probably just wants attention

Don't know who this guy was before this story came up but I'm more annoyed by all the soldier worshipers coming out to jerk off their friends and family. Rarely see an actual veteran engaging in that silly behavior.

This happened like three weeks ago but yeah Kaepernick is a washed up loser. He probably didn't stand because he knows he's getting cut from the team in a few days. He's been an attention thirsty loser his whole career.

Yes. Nessa Dieb (Kaepernick's gf) is reportedly an "activist DJ".

To add, he was born to a white woman and a black father, so first off he isn't even black. Second, he was adopted by white parents and raised to be a multi-million dollar football player. But no, he's oppressed, and if you question it you're tribal.

He's protesting something that doesn't exist.

this Bro was raised on white privilege

kaepernick sits on the bench too much as is

Move to Korea you filthy commie

Why does everyone get their panties in a knot when someone doesn't stand for the national anthem? It's not a big deal. Chill.

If you don't stand for the national anthem then you don't respect the country and if you don't like the country there are plenty of other places to live.

How about he actually does something to combat racial inequality

Why does everyone get their panties in a knot when someone doesn't stand for the national anthem? It's not a big deal. Chill.
the reason why he did it

this is the most ineffective form of protest i've ever seen
i could understand not standing for something like the pledge of allegiance but that national anthem? why even?
