Author Topic: [NEWS] Pewdiepie temporarily kicked off Twitter for joking about CIA  (Read 2864 times)

on topic this is news to me

even saying that phrase puts you on an fbi watchlist and heavy nsa scrutinization. it wasn't even a funny joke. lmao

ok i'm gonna just say the word 'CIA' on twitter and immediately get a tank up my bumhole just for even mentioning it

also for you to say a joke is or isn't funny is completely subjective to you

if you go on twitter, facebook, text messages, or talk over the phone and say that you joined That Group Which I Am Not Going To Use To Complete The Phrase Because I Dont Need To Be On An FBI Watchlist, you will get "a tank up your bumhole." thats just how it works in america.

the u.s. government isn't a fan of jokes, whether you like it or not. it's jsut how it be, and because twitter has a primarily american userbase, it is enforced on twitter.

this doesn't prove my point

yes people will obviously start shooting daggers at you for joining 'CIA' because almost loving nobody will join CIA

but i'm pretty sure this good keyword you can't comprehend going by the name of 'a joke' still is pointed out even from the start of the news article

regardless if it's funny or not

this patriot act is to "to deter and punish terrorist acts in the United States and around the world". just because you said "hey i joined CIA", unless if you're actually doing terrorist acts such as shooting up buildings blowing stuff up and etc while promoting that terrorist group, doesn't mean the government is going to go ham on you.

Poli I know you like to live in a Socialist utopia but free speech is a thing that exists in this country

Uh you guys Poliwhirl is telling the truth here. You're not going to get arrested but there's a ton of stuff you can search for that gets you put on watch lists with the various agencies.

i REALLY don't understand what you guys don't understand that there is a very clear disconnect in my opinion and that of the government's. the government allows freedom of speech, but george bush passed a law that allows the NSA to closely investigate anybody who appears even a little bit suspicious, and twitter was, i'm assuming, pressured legally to take down any possible "terrorist" rhetoric even if they know it's a joke.

On May 26, 2011, President Barack Obama signed the PATRIOT Sunsets Extension Act of 2011, a four-year extension of three key provisions in the USA PATRIOT Act: roving wiretaps, searches of business records, and conducting surveillance of "lone wolves"—individuals suspected of terrorist-related activities not linked to terrorist groups.
