Author Topic: Blockland refuses to let me host  (Read 2095 times)

So I've been on hiatus of Blockland for about a year now, but that doesn't matter.
Basically I wanted to host a server to do some building, but every time I attempt to host, Blockland crashes in the middle of loading.
I don't understand why this happens and it seems pretty inconsistent, like one attempt it got almost completely through music, I tried again and it didn't even make it past 'Loading Add-Ons'.
I am very frustrated in why this is happening and would be very appreciative to anyone who could figure out why it's not working and how to fix it.
I believe I've already made a post asking for help on this but nothing there actually worked

My console.log was too big so I couldn't upload it...
and I couldn't think of any sites that would help

are you running with addons?
you could try a clean install to see if that works at least (rename the blockland folder to blockland2, and reinstall)

You can paste your console.log using Pastebin. Simply press CTRL + A inside the notepad window while opening the console log to grab all the text, then press CTRL + C. After that, paste it using CTRL + V onto Pastebin.

If you're playing on Steam, try doing what phflack said by going to the Steam libary folder and then into the common folder. Rename the folder named blockland to blockland2 and then go to your list of Steam games. Right-click Blockland and select Properties from the drop-down menu. Then, click the tab that says LOCAL FILES and then click the button that says VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE to force Steam to download the missing files again. Try hosting using this clean install and see what happens.

I attempted this, but when I tried to create the link it said it was too much.

I will try this

NOEDIT: I am not however running the steam version just as an FYI

So I did this with my steam version, and it worked perfectly. Must be an add-on I have or something...

It was probably System_ReturnToBlockland

It was probably System_ReturnToBlockland
I think I should delete that, or should I just uncheck RTB when starting up the server?

should probably delete it and download one of the newer replacements

Alright, since I don't know where I can actually find a newer replacement I'll wait until I can find one

also if you have System_oRBS delete that too

It works!
Seems to be I had to delete System_Returntoblockland...
RIP RTB...
Well, I'm gonna lock the topic now, thanx to all who helped!
