Author Topic: Feminist Frequency released another video  (Read 4144 times)

If you don't know what Feminist Frequency is, it's a show where Anita Sarkeesian lies by omission and finds new illogical ways to paint games, game developers and gamers as loveist.

My pre-emptive reaction:

EDIT: Whoops, I intended to post this to Off-Topic. Sorry about that.

u didnt lock it
I'm just looking at SuperBro's thread which isn't directly connected to gaming, and wondering if my thread counts.

If Badspot finds issue with this, it should be pretty simple to move the thread.

Frequency pls

PATRIARCHY

Well holy stuff, healthy and active cartoon women look healthy and active. Who'da thunk?

HOLY stuff SHE ACTUALLY PUT A "TRIGGER WARNING" IN THE VIDEO.

There wasn't that much stupid stuff in the video this time. There is a lot less diversity in female body types, that is seemingly true, but that doesn't mean it devalues fat women.

I like that she said that all fat women are comedic relief, even though that could be applied to a lot of fat male characters like Donut Drake and so on.

Loadout also has a character with a unique body type for a female character.

literally everything here also applies to men. Basically all men are either super fit and """""objectifying""""", or their body types are used for comedy/used as plot points and focus points. totes shaming skinny and fat people!!!

there's a reason she is literally the most disliked person on youtube rofl

ok

why give her attention?

This isn't what I'm drawing from it, rather that she's complaining about "unrealistic" body representation for women when the women she brought up almost have to be physically fit and "slender" considering the situations they're in. Between literal infiltration warfare, street fighting and arena shooting, it wouldn't make sense to have overweight characters regardless of gender because given the scenario, they wouldn't fit.

Also she then went on to completely undermine her established point by saying that her definition of "body representation" can also mean looking vaguely non-human considering she cited like eight LoL characters who aren't human who apparently portray "realistic body representation"

Isn't feminist frequency controversial? Demonitize it

But one of the male characters is a loving fatass who smokes about 20 packs of cigarettes a day and is a convicted criminal

Shouldn't feminists be swooning over Overwatch?

EDIT: WHAT THE forget DO YOU MEAN PHARAH IS SLENDER

EDIT2: Also you just stated, after showing footage of Overwatch, that the norm for female characters is to have "pronounced breasts"? Have you even watched over the loving video, Anita?

also pharah has no limbs, theres no way arms can fit in those elbow and knee joints

I thought she left Feminist Frequency. Also what episode is she on now? Did she finally meet the quota that she promised in the kickstarter?

So should we start showing obese women in videogames?

See these people are fighting for "thick" women but not ugly disgustingly fat women.
