Author Topic: Anyone had Lockdown practice today?  (Read 1261 times)

Had mine at 7th period, took up nearly the entire class since my highschool is pretty big.

not sure why any of us would considering that schools individually schedule these types of practices and they're not often synchronized

funny coincidence, my toaster caught fire today

i'd assume that's up to the district, if even anything higher than your school's administration. everyone in the world isn't doing this today.

why do you assume the rest of the world must follow the same schedule as your own high school?

I don't really know to be honest. I just had that feeling that other schools would do the same thing on certain dates. Guess that's just my dumb assumption.

we did this last week
i honestly doubt hiding in the corner of the classroom would would anyway

When I was in school I always felt like putting everyone together is the worst thing you could do -- you create a mass where all you gotta do is point at it and shoot and you'll hit someone. Having kids evenly space out around the room under their desks sounds like a far superior method. They should have shades or something to prevent a shooter from seeing in, and shooting blindly isn't likely to hit people. I also feel like the angle of the bullet against the desk may provide a good amount deflection and thus protection to anyone under it.

You can conceal carry when you're 18 in Idaho. Too bad schools are a gun free zone. But good thing honor students always listen to that little sign on the window, right?

i thought basicly this, and I thought the glass should be bulletproof so they cant break it and then throw a grenade in or something

we had a fire drill on teusday

we haven't had one yet but a couple of our teachers have mentioned them a week or two back

one said something along the lines of 'if there's a real shooter threat inside the school, the last thing you'd want is to stay huddled up in the room, just open the classroom windows and run and use whatever you can as cover'

while our classrooms have windows i'm not sure about other schools though

yes, in science class, i hid in a floor cabinet
best hiding spot ever
i felt like snake from MSG

Yes, in percussion class. I hid in the drum storage room
