It doesn't directly, but take this into consideration: the vast majority of employers will straight-up throw your resume away if they know that you're a felon. Which means that as soon as a black man goes to prison for a felony drug violation, a majority of the legal, post-prison jobs are no longer available to him. That means that he's incentivized to go into crime, because it makes him money and he can put food on his table.

By getting rid of these ridiculous felonies (which do, deliberately, target minority groups more than white people), you can take away one of the primary incentives for getting into violent crime and start to create more generations of black families without any criminal background.

and the system dosnt really allow you to reform. you are criminal for life basically.

How does throwing people in prison fund anything? If your prisons are anything like Canada's you criminals just sit around doing forget all in a cell eating 3 meals a day and using up taxpayers money. I heard your prisons are privatized though so are the prisons more like gulags where they can actually make moeny?

That's really easy to say as a white kid on an expensive computer, but a lot of black kids group up in neighborhoods where their parents are felons, their neighbors are felons, and even some of their friends at school are felons. There's an immense pressure to fit in with peers, and drugs are an easy way to do it.

By the way, if we're just looking at drug usage, white people do just as much drugs as blacks. It's just that one group gets sent to prison more often for it. White people are also more likely to do hard drugs and deal drugs than blacks, but once again, it's the blacks and minorities that get sent to prison for it.

So yeah, your law-and-order 'don't do the crime if you can't do the time' attitude is grade-A bullstuff.
