Author Topic: YouTube introduces system rewarding censorship  (Read 7801 times)

Also, it really just helps SJWs and false flaggers. Thanks youtube.

Why is it that every time a topic of moderation and community management comes up there's always the forgetwits who whine about "m-muh SJWS!!"

Believe it or not, deleting stuffty comments isn't censorship and it sure as hell isn't promoting social justice. What's even funnier is that if half the bile on youtube was directed towards you, you'd be in favor of shutting it down immediately without giving it even so much as a moment's thought.

One way or another it's a good idea to at least try and address the dumpster fire that is the general youtube community. Google's trying to be as ad-friendly as possible so it only makes sense that this is the next logical step.

MASS FLAG VIDEOS!

Yeah that won't get abused.

Hopefully it works out. YouTube comment sections are loving awful.

But that's what makes youtube great. I spend hours reading comments.

I'm not going to read 1,000 comments of "I thought x was funny" "x was great, 1 like" BORING!

And all the mouth-breathing edgelords crawl out of the woodwork to call this bad because they were too bothered being angry about everything in existence to read into it a little bit further

Save the censoring for youtube.

Sorry Tony, you aren't part a demographic that's big enough to appeal to. While we value your input, it's ultimately not actionable.

"youtube hero"

that sounds like the cringiest title you can earn.

again, chill out nerds

only good boys make it to the top here. not the annoying spammers, trolls, and sjws that plague the internet

also: disabling comments on a video that's supposed to introduce a new comment system? what

I think YouTube's trying too hard to be a "social network" like Facebook or Twitter. The reality is, YouTube is a platform for entertainment, not "sharing thoughts!!!" or making blogposts. Secondly, it's a platform for revenue, and all this does is make it easier for corporations to take down videos under the guise of being a "YouTube Hero". This is much worse than the "advertiser-friendly" policy because it promotes "mass-flagging", and all that'll do is cause more stress for content creators who have enough problems with the flagging system already.
