Author Topic: My high school experience so far  (Read 4772 times)

I made a list of pros and cons i have about high school so far. Keep in kind this is only my 6th week.

Pros:
-Better students: My old class had a bunch of annoying kids who wouldn't shut up. Now, since I'm in 4 honors courses, I barely have to deal with that.
-More relaxed teachers: In english my teacher was talking about boners, enough said.
-Environment/Atmosphere: I used to hate going to school in Middle, but I don't mind going to school now. Sure there's still those moments where I feel like "Ugh I really don't wanna go today" but I've experienced a lot less of those.
-More enjoyable classes: The stuff I'm learning now seem to be much more entertaining than in middle school.
-Release time: I used to get out at 2:55, now I get out at 2:30
-Clubs: So many more clubs to join. I've already joined 2
-Homecoming/School dances: I've never actually been to one (obviously), and I was expecting my homecoming to be as stuffty as my middle school dances and boi was i wrong. Homecoming was a great experience and I recommend going to all the 8th graders out there.
-New people: Some people may be against this, but I love new people as it's a chance for me to make new friends. I make friends very easily and only have one single stuffhead that hates me for some reason.

Cons:
-The lunch line: I have a 25 min lunch and the line takes up half of that
-The crowds: Switching classes is like rush hour on the highway but every 45 minutes. Not to mention the constant kids ramming into you.
-The students: I have two non-honors classes, Health and Algebra, and there are stuffty kids in those classes.
-The size of the school: The school is 18 acres big, and sometimes I have classes across the street at some school wing. Then I must walk across the whole entire school in the giant pool of kids to the 500's building
-Lunches: The lunches are a lot more expensive and less healthy/tasty
-Chrome books: Chrome books suck, the scrolling is trash and you can't download stuff.
-School: School is school and i will never grow to like it. I just prefer high school over middle.
-Homework: Whats there to elaborate?
-Friends: About half of my some 14 friends actually go to my new high school, so that's depressing.

That's about it. There's probably more I'm just too lazy to think of 'em.

must be especially hard having high school in syria

just what school do you go to that is 18 acres big

how do you learn anything with 45 minute classes

how do you learn anything with 45 minute classes
I mean, my classes in college are 50 mins, so it's possible if they're efficient.

how do you learn anything with 45 minute classes
they just assign tons of homework, at least in my experience. thats how my high school ran. 7 45-min classes

I don't get why people complain about school lunches so much. It's food, don't like it? Don't buy it and make your own food like a large portion of people do. If you cant make food at home then why are you complaining that it tastes bad or doesn't meet a certain criteria of nutrition.

18 was my estimate tbh

That's your location in your forum profile.

oh i forgot about that i should change that

Also for highschool it's funny people complain about the lunch/its nutritional value because usually most seniors get fast food for lunch every day.

i used to be on the free lunch program (now reduced/40 cent) because my family income was so loving low
we ate pretty much the same stuff every other day for dinner (porkchops 1 day, chicken the next, etc.) and couldn't really afford to buy stuff to make lunch with
the food in schools is absolute stuff and here's an example of the "bean paste" we receive at school. it literally looks and tastes like stuff

i don't eat breakfast at home or school because i don't have time
do not tell me to take it in the ass and submit to eating stuffty food

My seminars and lectures in uni are all 50min long, even for my Japanese language degree

the homework bit doesn't get any better, especially if you're going into STEM. Psychology doesnt count as a science major cuz they're a bunch of weenies
