Author Topic: Why is this new show getting so popular?  (Read 6895 times)

amen
aelita was my first waifu
back off shes mine
also i have a distinct memory of being in first or second grade and my friend telling me about a dream where he married umi

Looks pretty bad
If the current ~15 year trend continues, (i.e. 1989-2004 had really good cartoons and in the 80s there were a LOAD of stuffty cartoons) maybe after 2019 we'll get that good stuff again

and we have had a lot of unfunny adult cartoons that try too hard.

this show looks like stuff.

why can't cartoon network have a good show??

and we have had a lot of unfunny adult cartoons that try too hard.
yep. same 15 year rule applies to adult cartoons
every one of them got worse after 2004, and the new ones made were even worse
there are obviously exceptions but i think the rule is generally pretty accurate

evolution was such a dissapointment. wish they had done another animated series like the original

because cartoons now are designed to sell toys and video games.
this is clearly following that collectible bullstuff pattern.

cartoon network is pushing it a lot, but it doesn't look great imo. who knows tho, CN's marketing of the show could just be terrible. i haven't been seeing anyone get too excited about it yet.

I mean (I'm going on a rant here bear with me)

This show looks like absolute trash. It has the same kind of CG animation that TTG and Johnny Test has and it does not look good in the slightest. Look at these expressions:

Also this loving posture:

That is not how you hold a loving sword. The way she's holding it isn't even cool-looking, it looks like this.

And as mentioned before, the pacing is loving awful. You don't know when it's about to end. Normally, you'd have a build-up in the severity of gags as the episode goes on with a big payoff, but they wrote the episodes so that they sometimes just drop the gags halfway through the show. That, and I don't know whether this wants to be a story-driven series or not. They have canonical events, but then tell no real cohesive story. loving pick one, you can't have both.

Skip this one. Wait for the next Adventure Time or Steven Universe (shows with depth)

Adventure Time and Steven Universe both suck in my opinion (esp steven universe, its a bunch of SJW-made crap). They represent almost everything I dislike about the new generation of kids that are younger than me, and everything i dislike about modern-day cartoon network. Constant crude jokes and ridiculous exaggerated character behaviors. Not even funny at all. Only the old cartoon network shows were worth watching. Everything after 2007+ was just pure garbage.

I've been wanting to say this for so long holy stuff

only thing it has going for it really is that they're getting Egoraptor to do some of the voices
that and his first line in the entire show is "Weenies" delivered in a very mischievous and unsettling tone.

Constant crude jokes and ridiculous exaggerated character behaviors.
isn't this pretty much the broadest and most accurate descriptor of every american cartoon ever, not just current ones?

I've been wanting to say this for so long holy stuff

it's honestly not made by sjw's, it's just open minded people who happen to have sjw's propogate the show
