Author Topic: Modter hiding faces  (Read 1865 times)

So modter always does this to me. UngaBunga told me this doesn't happen to him, so it's somethign on my side.
I tried usign the same modter bricks as UngaBunga (he uploaded his GSF terrain zips), but that doesn't fix the issue.

Anyone knows why this happens?

Example:

It's because badspot never intended the water bricks to be used like this.

There are basically 2 solutions:
- disable face hiding for modter bricks, this also includes faces between other modter bricks.
- fix the face hiding code.

or only make face hiding between bricks of the same type
so only normal bricks or modter and water bricks

You can't.

I don't think it would be a complete fix, but it would be a good start at least

and yeah, I don't think it's something an addon can fix

i work with modter alot usually its with other modded bricks on my side but also if your using say a 1x6x5 brick try using a 2x6x5 brick instead since bigger bricks seem to not be deleted as much.

also: need any help? :^)

one extremely stuffty way to handle this is to make your colorset opaque colors to 254 instead of 255. this makes them "trans" and prevents them from hiding faces but will probably exponentially increase the lag due to no hidden face optimization.

Have the same issues.
You can work around it though.

For example: just move the brick in your picture 1/3 up or use a longer brick so it sticks out of the modTerrain brick.
