Why is everyone acting like this hurricane is more torrential than others? We've had a few more severe ones on the atlantic in the past decade, what makes this one more threatening? it's like some of you have never been in a storm before

I've been noticing a trend of people blowing oncoming/occurring events way out of proportion and quickly forgetting about them. Ex; the clowns, sitting/kneeling for the national anthem, anything else that trended within the last year

I seriously doubt anything will happen except some broken stuff and maybe some bad flooding lol

This is for tornadoes but stand under a doorframe if you're worried about your house collapsing in on you, which most likely won't happen.

Shouldn't be so bad, but then again, I live near Lake Michigan, so literally nothing happens over here except the occasional thunderstorms.
