Author Topic: Bees are dying fast!  (Read 2222 times)

Can't be too bad if they keep finding their way in my house when I open the door.

According to all known laws
of aviation,

there is no way a bee
should be able to fly.

Its wings are too small to get
its fat little body off the ground.

The bee, of course, flies anyway

because bees don't care
what humans think is impossible.

Yellow, black. Yellow, black.
Yellow, black. Yellow, black.

Ooh, black and yellow!
Let's shake it up a little.

OT; Yeah, the health of the bee population is a real problem. I wish more people understood the purpose of bees and didn't get so scared of them. You can help by starting a hive with real, healthy bees.

Is earth just literally forgeted right now?

Earth?  No.  Humanity isn't even in danger.  Humans survived the last ice age with grass coats and sharp sticks.  Humans aren't going extinct.  Meaningful life on earth will continue.

Now civilization?  That can go out like a light.  It's happened multiple times before, and with the greater and greater leverage we place on the natural world, the effect of any disruption is amplified.  Nearly 80% of the nitrogen found in human tissue today originated from the Haber-Bosch process for generating synthetic ammonia fertilizers.  If the petrochemical industry stopped tomorrow, billions of people would die within a few years.  That is not an exaggeration.

It has taken humans tens of thousands of years to breed our food crops to the incredibly productive point they're at now.  But if you took crops back to where they were even 200 years ago, billions of people would die.  We're dependent on modern crops and they're dependent on us.  Crops can't compete against weeds or insects because they're spending all of their energy producing fruit and seeds for us.  If a lack of bees is a problem for our crops, they need us to fix it for them.

All bees do is make honey and flowers

All bees do is make honey and flowers

Yeah, and those flowers are responsible for fruit/veggies eg; apples, oranges, pears, cherries, pumpkins, squash...

All bees do is make honey and flowers

Oh so rip vegans, natural selection taking action I guess
Take a loving environment science course (or pass middle school) and then come back.

If you don't understand the food chain/web then shoo.

ah the reverse-tony, posting a real problem and then making the doubters look silly

A significant chunk of the population will die.

on top of 1/4th of the population dying after the global warming crCIA. lol

2/4th of the population will be dead in a "few" years.
i wanna clear these numbers up right now for those just tuning in:

by population he means all species on earth. not the human population alone lol
