Okay, but that's all it had going for it.

If we were to base how good a movie was based on it's special effects relative to the time, then...

Oh god...
if you compare the lego movie to the phantom menace ever again im going to kick you in the ribs

Well get ready to shove some feet into my chest, because I am about to get deep into it.

Mostly CGI
Looked Amazing
Cringy Dialogue
Annoying AF (Everything is Awesome?)
And of course,
Awful Plottwist

Yeah, but I also did something even better.

I watched the movie.

Yeah, but I also did something even better.

I watched the movie.

I watched it and loved it

Your point?

My point, My opinion was drawn from watching the movie, and not from someone else who watched the movie.

You forgot a few things:
  • Touching story between father/son masked by zany animated heros/villains
  • Clever message on the dangerous balance between authoritarianism and the individual
  • Moral encouragement to think outside of the box but also shows the pros of sticking to the script
  • Intelligent commentary on the decline of popular music (hence "Everything is Awesome")
  • Refreshing (and satirical) interpretation of Batman (uughhh his parents are deaaaaad so emoooooo)
  • Rich character arcs
I could go on

Also can you tell me what was so awful about the "plot twist" (also what the forget it was)

IT loving LOOKED LIKE REAL LEGOS AND THE ENTIRE TIME I THOUGHT IT WAS STOP MOTION ANIMATION!
funny thing, it was actually animated to look like stop motion
at this point we should make a movie about 2000-2009 memes
cat gifs: the movie

This reminds me of something ...

There's your proof that movies based around kids are turning to stuff nowadays.
It makes the retired cartoons from the 90's-early 2000's be thankful they got cancelled so they didn't get hate.
Who even had the right idea to make a movie around emoji's anyway? We're talking about professionals here.
