So you gonna apologize for 9/11?
If I was part of the Saudi government I would
Are you saying you want to agree to disagree or something?
I don't know enough about the racial implications of the war on drugs but if there's actual evidence of unfair sentencing being given to criminals then it should be dealt with internally. Going on national news and saying "im sorry all the white cops are garbage :(" (note: that was an exaggeration) isn't actually going to solve any problems relating to the (somehow relevant?) war on drugs. Hold the cops who "commit atrocities" accountable. Don't apologize on behalf of all of them. Since we're in the business of equating public apologies to russia getting nuked, I honestly don't see how this sentiment couldn't be carried into a similar scenario like a muslim apologizing on behalf of all muslims for CIA. It paints innocent people under a brush that validates irrational generalizations.
I didn't say that he was intentionally trying to deceive you into believing the apology was genuine, lol. When people exploit social matters for status they generally do it subconsciously. The apology itself might be genuine but that doesn't necessarily mean the intentions were to begin with. I also didn't say he was kissing SJW ass so I don't know if the whole hateboner liner was just put there to try to invalidate me or if you actually had a point but w/e
Sorry If I came out that way. It's a tad bit annoying for people to view this as an empty apology, and its also a bit ironic to hear it from non-minorities. I would expect BLM to be like "he's white he sucks he's lying!" or something and white people to say "look BLM isnt doing anything to help racism, but instead the police are."
Technically speaking, this is still a noble thing to do. I don't see it as him apologizing for something he didn't do but acknowledging that it happened, and noting that it was a horrible thing that happened. The fact that he makes this statement already says that someone in the higher ups of the police force is trying to push for a reform. BLM hasn't done much in the reform department besides reforming the windshields of cars, so its nice to hear that someone is actually doing something good for everyone.
