Brutal doom is my favorite conversion wad next to smoothdoom but it breaks so many wads.

Brutal Doom is loving awful. It makes everything way too loving easy and the gore really doesn't add anything to the atmosphere unless you're twelve to fourteen. Works well with Slaughter WADs, not much else.

If you want an overhaul that's actually good, look at Demonsteele. Or Beautiful Doom. Or D4D. Or Reelism. Or Smooth Doom.

Demonsteele is good with certain wads and obviously mapsets made for it, and then it basically turns every other wad into w+m1 fest

But yeah brutal doom is joke at even ultra-violent, grenades null ambushes and the rifle start makes dying trivial.

only thing I liked about brutal doom tbh was updating the controls to have vertical view movement and crouching and jumping, though a ton of things that run doom now kinda end up doing that anyways.
