Author Topic: what program would be good for writing music (UPDATE: new DAWs to consider)  (Read 3170 times)

Musescore has just about every musical notation you'd need for sheetmusic

yeah, but in playback they don't work

It's easy and fun to use!

that's 8-bit music

that's not what we're talking about

learn how to use fl studio and it'll be good. undertale's soundtrack was made in fl studio.

ableton is more difficult to learn than fl studio but it's far more powerful

in playback you have to play around a bit.
for crescendos, add the start and ending dynamics, and make them invisible.
they won't be seen once uploaded to the site, but the program and website will play them as such.

You're not going to find a high quality "orchestral only" program. You need a DAW and third party instruments to get the best of the best. Again, Spitfire's Albion and 8Dio's Orchestral Suite are great products and will sound extremely authentic.

it isn't rly, it does use some basic chiptune instruments, but it also uses fl studio default synthesized/sampled instruments like guitars, pianos, etc.

guys i'm not too sure but i think he wants composing software

It can work like that, or it can work like FL Studio.

It just needs good playback is all. As in you can take the test run of the music and pass it off as something authentic.

Take a look at each option and vote. I'll do the same.

I have to say, right now it's between FL Studio and Spitfire Albion One.
