That's user fault.
its user fault that mac has superior virus removal and windows doesn't? i think you lost me at 'h'

its user fault that mac has superior virus removal and windows doesn't?
well... mac doesn't either
actually, I don't even know if OS X includes any antimalware anyway. windows, however, does include the generally adequate windows defender
the main reason you don't have to worry about serious stuff is because OS X doesn't have enough of a market share to make targeting it practical

It's the user's fault because you're torrenting research from the wrong websites silly

thats why you get viruses

in a mac, you'd have to pay $2 per minute of research video

Maybe you've never used mac before, but i've explored so many websites and haven't gotten a single virus on my computer. I've downloaded hundreds of files from sus ass websites and nothing is ever happened. On the second day I got my windows computer and downloaded off of softsonic i got like 2 viruses that made my default browser yahoo.

Explain in a way that doesn't involve "well u should've bought norton" because im not paying jack stuff for extra protection. I want a product that covers it all at once.

A lot of gamer geeks love to stuff on Mac just because it doesn't support their 400+ steam games. For me, I actually have everything I need and i'm perfectly happy with it. I don't need like 20 processors and I don't need to post my specs in every other message board just for attention. If windows were to be easy to use and had great support for outside devices, I would buy their product instantly. However, dealing with windows is like jumping through 200 extra hoops. Even XBOX was a hassle to work with.

People need to understand that user interface is literally the most important aspect of design, especially when trying to tailor to common people. Having all these bells and whistles and NVIDIA benchmarks is just a bunch of flashy stuff and I don't really give a forget.

Theres your problem lmao

Plus I thought it was common knowledge that Norton was very stuffty and you could buy better ones for less or even free? If you don't take proper care of your computer and you do stuff that a moron would do, that is how your pc gets filled with viruses and annoying popups.

I don't even use any antivirus other than the one scan per like 2 weeks from windows defender, and my computer is still near the same as when I got it.

It's not windows's fault, it's yours

Its windows fault that they force you to search for your own antivirus instead of actually providing a working one. You don't buy a brand new car and get sent a car with the wheels and radio missing, with a pamphlet giving you extra steps in which you can buy the wheels and the radio. Also, don't call me a moron for not knowing what the small 10% of windows nerds know. I'm literally an average person with average computer skills. I don't know what websites I should avoid at all costs or how I should max out this driver or what else. I just want to hop on and produce some loving beats. I don't need all this extra stuff that windows loves to throw at you and force you to buy.

one of my friends got a mac for gaming
he regretted it very soon after

Maybe you've never used mac before
using OS X is not the only way to find out whether or not it includes antimalware, lol

well like I said, you're not a big target if you're using OS X

also, it's worth mentioning that if you are regularly getting any kind of malware on your computer, regardless of the operating system, it's because you're incompetent, and certainly not because of any shortcomings of the operating system

g4u. I don't think many people care whether or not you like your mac. on the other hand, you seem to care very much that other people like windows. apparently to the point where you make up random things about it like having bad support for "outside devices" and not being easy to use. if windows is hard for you to use, then we are just back at the incompetence thing again
Its windows fault that they force you to search for your own antivirus instead of actually providing a working one.
windows includes windows defender. windows defender = antivirus
OS X includes no such thing

Its windows fault that they force you to search for your own antivirus instead of actually providing a working one.
It does though, it's called Windows Defender, and it's honestly pretty good.

Also, don't call me a moron for not knowing what the small 10% of windows nerds know. I'm literally an average person with average computer skills.
It's not knowledge of a minority, it's common knowledge to know how to keep a computer from not getting viruses and all sorts of junkware

I don't know what websites I should avoid at all costs or how I should max out this driver or what else.
Unless if you've purposefully got a gaming computer and turn on the gpu notifications, it will never bug you lol

I don't need all this extra stuff that windows loves to throw at you and force you to buy.
They don't force you to buy it whatsoever, there's a program un-installer built into windows you know, use it

This argument is pretty dumb, I'm not going to participate or derail the thread any further

And honestly you're acting like a stereotypical OS X fanboy white knight as well

Maybe you've never used mac before,
Yep, I have. They're pretty much useless for anything other than designing and yet, you can do that on a Windows PC just as fine with a good monitor.

I've explored many websites too. Sketchy ones as well and no virus. I usually download from non-sketchy sites. Softonic, C-Net and the similar are moron traps.

Explain in a way that doesn't involve "well u should've bought norton" because im not paying jack stuff for extra protection. I want a product that covers it all at once.
Norton is pretty much a virus on its own. It's impossible to remove without a clean install and is pretty bad. Don't browse like a noobie on the net and you pretty much wouldn't need an anti-virus apart from Microsoft's default protection.

A lot of gamer geeks love to stuff on Mac just because it doesn't support their 400+ steam games. For me, I actually have everything I need and i'm perfectly happy with it.
Good for you.

I don't need like 20 processors and I don't need to post my specs in every other message board just for attention.
Neither do I. I have one and it works like a charm.

If windows were to be easy to use and had great support for outside devices, I would buy their product instantly. However, dealing with windows is like jumping through 200 extra hoops. Even XBOX was a hassle to work with.
Windows is easy to use and a pretty much universal operating system. Everything is compatible with Windows or has an equivalent-quality copy for Windows. Consoles pretty much should have died already. There's no longer a need to have a system just for playing games when a good computer can do that and pretty much anything else. If there's an OS with a stuffload of forums with support for different problems, it's Windows.

People need to understand that user interface is literally the most important aspect of design, especially when trying to tailor to common people
I'd believe you if a Mac didn't cost x5 of its base parts.

Having all these bells and whistles and NVIDIA benchmarks is just a bunch of flashy stuff and I don't really give a forget.
Neither do I, it just virtually shows how small your rooster is. Just like buying a pickup truck to use in the city and wash every day.

When you realize phones and personal computers are the most opinion based thing on the planet and all of you debating which is 'better' look absolutely foolish

It does though, it's called Windows Defender, and it's honestly pretty good.

It's not knowledge of a minority, it's common knowledge to know how to keep a computer from not getting viruses and all sorts of junkware
I don't know much about Windows Defender because the last windows I owned was a windows 7, and there wasn't any good antivirus. I'm not that experienced in the field to know if they've actually upped their antivirus game. All I know is that my mac has never gotten a single virus.

Also its not 'common knowledge' of what sites you need to avoid and exactly what antivirus service you need to purchase. A large body of enterprise use windows as their OS for all the work computers, but they pay a specialist to inform them on what programs are needed, including antivirus. The average consumer of windows isn't a technological genius, which is why tech support and other help websites thrive so much. Not everyone has the experience and knowledge that you have with windows, sorry to break it to you.

I'm a dumb consumer. I buy what works best for me. I don't mean to sound like im hating on windows or anything because honestly it's vastly superior to macs, but I still think that macs have their own good qualities and thats why I support it until it breaks down and I have to buy a 100$ chromebook

i'm dead serious. maybe there are hundreds of viruses sitting dormant and doing their stuff, but they've never interfered with my computer at all. It still works perfectly fine and I can run everything really well. Maybe mac has a really good virus hiding tool that makes you unable to notice the effects as your credit card is hacked, but I can't tell. If so they did a good job at it.

Maybe I was careless with my windows, but I got a virus on the first day trying to download notepad++ online. I could never get it removed, and even after I payed for an antivirus my computer continued to deteriorate until it couldn't even turn on. This happened over the course of a year.

People are now saying that Norton is stuff, but when I did research online i saw only positive reviews for it. I don't know.

And another.

Is it really that hard to know the difference between a regular webpage and a shady webpage?
