The engine is just as old, so kinda. The map size is much larger than ArmA can offer. However, due to the old code, the map is flat as forget.

It also has full sized warships! But they slow af and are only effective against a third of the map, so no one uses them :p

To update my response to this question, I learned recently that there's an offline mode and training mode that allows you to do whatever you want without cost to your side as they're not attached to the campaign server.
