Author Topic: where can i buy a good sword (ok fine im willing to spend more than $100)  (Read 987 times)

traditional filipino weapons

ive gotten 3 blades from them and they've all been p nice, but you'll need to maintain the blade (sharpening and oil)

overall nice and i would recommend them

that's actually a fair point

i've always kind of wanted a big greatsword, is the(https://www.amazon.com/Cold-Steel-Handed-Great-Sword/dp/B000Q9GD2Y)

worth it, or do you have other recommendations?

If what my dad says is true, Cold Steel makes some decent blades, so look around with that i guess

i've had a few cold steel blades and they never held their edge for a good amount of time
i'll give them a point for solid construction but the blades themselves are just eh

depends on if you like tradition or not

cold steel is alright for hacking stuff in your back yard but anything higher level and their brand begins to fall apart vs the competition

except for their great sword since nobody makes zweihanders :/

i mean to be fair a sword is absolutely the way to go with that

Lots of historical and relatively high quality functional swords on this site. You'll probably only get something "functional" and probably budget quality for $150~. But that's fine for some light test cutting. The sword market/hobby is indeed a very expensive one with the 3-500's being pretty "middle quality" but that's only if you're looking for extreme historical accuracy and handling.

When looking on the pages just make sure to only look at "Battle Ready" products as those are the ones with appropriate construction for practical use.
