If you had clicked the damn link, you would see projects are on the way, and its a very simple program to use, even in comparison to the doom mod programs. Banjo's Backpack lets you import from Blender, so you can make entire new worlds, as featured on their website. The only reason it's not considered 'good' is because it's in alpha, but for alpha it's pretty damn advanced.

I have been here since 2009.
It's less the maps being removed, and more about the fact that the Developers utterly ignored their fanbase and said 'naw, we'll do what we want'.Ironically Rare also did this with Nuts and Bolts.
