more than that didn't want Annoying Orange in office. failing to understand what point you are trying to make
the majority of the country didn't want clinton to be president. i'm saying that the argument for "what the majority of the people want" doesnt make any sense if you actually come down to it.

I'm sick and  tired of people complaining about the electoral college. This video explains why it was chosen over a popular vote. The electoral college has been brown townysed by many different people throughout the years and there's a reason why we still use it for the presidential vote. It seems unavoidable that every election where it doesn't match the popular vote the people who voted for the "more popular" candidate get all riled up about it, determining to abolish the electoral college.

In this election alone, I know of many friends and families that decided against voting in the presidential election or voted third party because of how crappy both main party candidates were. I live in California so voting for the president is utterly useless. The popular vote each election is altered by the very existence of the electoral college itself, we can't really know what it would be if people went into voting with the mindset that the presidency was won via popular vote. For one, I think many more people would vote in the presidential election rather than just skip over that part of their ballot. Second, I think third parties would get far fewer votes, since people realize that each individual vote is really of great importance.

In my opinion, the ideal solution would be that every state uses the Congressional District Method to distribute electoral votes instead of making states all or nothing. This would also prevent candidates from simply campaigning in a few major cities where the majority of people live.

what? literally, no. more people voted for clinton than any of the other candidates. just because of That's How Numbers Work, it also turns out that means the other candidates are unwanted by more people than clinton

You know what the second most important thing for life is? It's food and last I checked there are no farms in NYC
True democracy accounts for this. If there is a problem with the food supply, the problem will be fixed. There will be a bill to subsidize or regulate or deregulate or import or what-have-you.

On the other hand, if their party gets elected, they support the farm people, as well as force their dumb religious views on everyone when the vast majority of people don't give a stuff whether gay people can get married. It's created the 50/50 democrat republican divide that doesn't actually exist.

Democracy is for the people because it's run by the people. The country is made by the people. Made up of the people. If you decide the decision of the people doesn't matter, you're undermining democracy at its core.

must of been great to see ol samuel tilden get riled up in 1876 when he lost to hayes

the thing is, with the electoral college, in massachusetts it was basically worthless to vote because you already know that Massachusetts is going democratic. If you had popular vote at least, all my conservatives facebook buddies votes would have actually counted towards Annoying Orange but they didnt

just let me decide the president
I'm in full support of the South Pole Squad being our leaders
