Author Topic: Should I get a R9 Fury over a GTX 1070?  (Read 2288 times)

Get the 1070. Sure you may not support their tactics, but that isn't much of a good reason to buy an AMD gpu that would perform less powerful than the 1070 can (Which is true after looking up benchmarks, even the FuryX barely gets close to the 1070), along with little optimization in games as well

It's the only smart desicion here, honestly. Unless if you like stuff performance, no optimization, and other stuff like that

for the record. i am running a 6700k, 16gigarams, and a 1080ftw. all overclocked to death.
on 500w (gold)
Okay?  Nobody asked.

Okay?  Nobody asked.
op asked if he needed a psu upgrade for a more powerful gpu and bisjac was stating that he was running a stronger system with a lesser supply

1070, the optimization is key, I had an AMD card before that died out on me out of nowhere, but then I switched over to Nvidia, the games run incredibly well.

hello fellow founder's edition 1070 owner
i am one too

get the 1070
i don't like nvidia's practices but it's the best bang4buck gpu out there on the market
ayyy, 1070 boyo's

yeah this along with everyone else telling you to get the 1070.

Because here's the thing, while Nvidia's practices are stuff and garbage, you not buying their card won't make it stop, and the 1070 is a great card anyways, like, really good.

Okay?  Nobody asked.
do you not remember what this thread is about or are you just a cunt.

i've had issues with their AMD video cards and not to mention their CPUs also, i wouldn't recommend getting it.

at this point just about anything is better than AMD, so yeah, get the 1070

Okay?  Nobody asked.
You're handicapped.

Ok, well the 1070 won the vote. But, which variant should I get? The Zotac one mentioned in the OP is one of the best models from what I've heard, but I'm wondering if theres any other models out there that you guys think is better. Also no, i'm not getting the founders edition.

i go:
evga > gigabyte > asus > (others i will never buy)

nonono

EVGA 1070's and 1080's have been blowing up and catching on fire, which is a shame because EVGA's aftermarkets are some of my favorites.

Get the Zotac one, Gigabyte's and Asus 1070's are a bit stuffty imo

only the 2 ftw versions had. and evga gives free new ones anyway.
but those ones without thermal pads stopped shipping back end of sep. its impossible to get one of those unless you buy used from someone.

I like EVGA cards, they're quiet and cool, Gigabytes cards this generation is ugly, and asus is overpriced. MSI has good cards (and hey they match my setup), and Zotac from what i've seen in videos has the best cooling solution next to watercooling for the 1070.

Thats the FTW editions and I'd be getting an SC which uses the reference PCB anyways.

oh thank god, because EVGA cards are some of the best imo

Yeah get whatever EVGA/Zotac you want, as long as it's not one of the models that blows up.

nothing wrong with msi, its just not my brand.

buy a card based on the cooling that looks good.
