Author Topic: Are any people in America actually oppressed?  (Read 22728 times)

well someone said my chicken noodle soup tasted bad so yea id im pretty oppresed

Atrocities are a loving societal issue. When 9/11 happened, do you think the entire country just sat around and said "wow glad im not them" or do you think they actually worked together to support each other? I'm not saying that everyone is responsible for something that they do, but every person in society should bear the burden equally to solve the issue. This is how problems get solved. Not by blaming some specific group for everything and saying that they're the cause of all the issues (I DONT BELIEVE IN WHITE GUILT). It's everyone's problem and it should be solved by having everyone come together. This is the kind of stuff that MLK proposed.

My ancestors were busy farming stuff in Europe when your great great great great grandpappy was picking cotton in a plantation in God knows where

I'd never give you my money for the same reason people in Turkey aren't shilling out some arbitrary amount of cash to people in Eastern Europe: Because those slave owners are long dead

Less than 5% of people alive today had ancestors who owned slaves, and if we should go to them you should probably contact someone who knows less than us, Bernie Sanders

black fathers are ok with leaving their kids because they know the government will take of everything

Exactly. It's a culture thing, not a race thing

-snip-

When am I going to get reparations from the Russians and the Mongols and the Polish?

So you're a Jew now or what?

You clearly didn't read a word I said. I explicitly said that we don't need anything of monetized value. We don't need your money or you to take the blame for stuff that someone you're completely unrelated to did a hundred years ago. We need you to accept that it happened, and accept that its still happening today. That's all. You can even be the blackest person in the united states and still understand and accept what is happening without taking blame or paying someone.

There are countries like Turkey and Japan who still deny that their atrocities never occurred and are just propaganda. They are the oppressors. They refuse to accept that something happened and as a result they just feign ignorance on the worst issues that have ever occurred in history.

So you're a Jew now or what?

Ukrainian and Russian Mennonite but close enough

What do we need to accept that happened? And what is happening today?

Oh and if you say "systematic racism" for whats happening today you should probably kill yourself

I probably can't really speak for oppressed ancestors, since they were knights, landowners, viking warlords, and physicists. Hell, if you guys are descended from Anglo-Saxons, I might be apologizing for my ancestors' actions, such as making a king a saint.

People like perry and jintank think we are oppressed when in reality we're not.

Maybe if they moved to africa they'd know true oppression.

It's the blame game. People in the modern day refuse to accept personal responsibility for their own stuffty lives so they blame it on everyone else. Working your way out of the hole you dug is hard.

Relative oppression:
Imagine you're in a fancy, world-renowned hotel. However, you're on the ground floor, your room smells like stuff, the staff refuse to clean it, and the people in the really nice rooms up above throw their garbage onto your room's balcony. Should you complain even though the hotel next door is even worse?

"Don't forget that most men with nothing would rather protect the possibility of becoming rich, than face the reality of being poor." -John richardinson, fictional version of, 1776.

Are you talking about slavery here because guess what
We ended it

Unless you have a really weird history where your ancestors were enslaved by the Muslims but then they got shipped back to Africa where they got enslaved by the other Africans then got shipped to America

Is that what happened Path

That's definitely what happened Path

Yeah that's what I thought -_-

That brown townogy is gay. A more accurate one would be. "you live in a house, it smells like stuff and is a mess but you refuse to clean it because the owner before left it that way before you moved in."

I'm the last person you should be flinging cigarettegy quotes like that at. My ancestors came from nothing and worked their way out of poverty. Keep in mind Slavs and Mennonites weren't treated the best in Canada back then either. My grandmother would get strapped for answering a question in school in Dutch. And people in general weren't fond of them either because of their race.

My ancestors came from nothing and worked their way out of poverty.
And you aren't your ancestors.
