Author Topic: Are any people in America actually oppressed?  (Read 22791 times)

1. Black people aren't denied a healthy educational environment. Either you try for your grades, find a better place to get an education, or choose to forget around too much to get anything done, which seems to be the role model people are after. Plenty of black kids from poor families have gotten themselves a good education by actually trying.
You have no loving clue what you're talking about do you? You sound a lot like Bisjac with all this talk out of your ass right now

seize the means of production when

Better dead then red you commie bastard

I lived in Providence RI for a while and the public schools there are way underfunded. Most of the schools in the providence area are private but of course we couldn't afford them so I had to spend some time in the public schools. It didn't help that providence was beginning their new budget cuts on public education and libraries too.
So that explains why you're so loving stupid...

poor people are poor because they are lazy and spend money on stupid stuff they dont need. there is a disproportionate amount of blacks and Latinos below the poverty line compared to whites and asians.

no

poor black people are quick to blame whites for holding them back and oppressing them as a clever cover to hide their unwillingness to improve their lives

I don't see any well off black people blaming white people for their problems

poor people are poor because they are lazy

>being this delusional

Did you think that maybe, just maybe the reason there are more blacks and Hispanics below the poverty line is because they don't get anything close to the chances that whites get.

He's right. All poor people are lazy. While waru lives in his parents basement, he still isn't poor and therefore is the hardest worker of all. We should all strive to be waru in life.

um
did you know that
if the parents cant afford a good school for their children
then they probably dont have a good job
because they probably also didnt get good grades
which means if the student choses to do good rather than blame it on "muh stuff enviornment"
then his children can have a better life too
and thus the concept of "black people have unfair education system!!! BURN ALL WHITES!!!" doesnt apply...

um did you know that
when you enslave an entire race
and then leave them with no money
lynch them randomly to fuel your own hatred
segregate them and force them to settle for less
they have no money
they raise children in an environment where theres no money
and half of the country hates them
they grow up feeling discouraged
they have a child
they still have no money
the cycle still repeats

Life is like a track and field race. White people cut a leg off of the black race, and now they expect them to magically run the race as if they never lost that leg. Very few people are lucky and manage to become successful, but the majority just ends up stumbling around in agony. And you know whats worse? They get called lazy.

2. You're black because of your skin color and genetic background, not because you buy into stereotypes.
why is everyone so mad at this comment, he's not wrong whatsoever.

lol neither do you apparently

Not everyone get's the same opportunities as others, that's a given, but why is what Willy is saying wrong? Doing good in a stuffty school doesn't mean you won't do good in life, even if you do bad in a loving great school, it doesn't mean you won't do good in life.

Look at Kendrick Lamar, he was from a poor family straight in the middle of Compton and now is a millionaire, much like dozens of other rappers.

Success isn't limited by skin pigment.

is this the part where we bring up that a majority of slave owners were black

"but muh white supremacy"

people need to forget off with that dumbass white patriarchy stuff, especially you Perry.

There is no white patriarchy, there is a corporate patriarchy that has it's hold over the world and causing this stuff. If there truly was a white patriarchy then literally almost every white person would be stuffting on all other races.

"but muh black people enslaved themselves"

I dont think a white patriarchy exists. I do believe in the proven fact that white people have more privileges than any other race in the united states. Also I love how you bring up kendrick lamar as a way of saying "you should all be like kendrick lamar" even though the ironic part is that rap is one of the only ways black people can actually become successful. Sure, you can be the deviant that manages to get an actual proper education and graduate to college, but the rest have to resort to musical talent in order to become famous. This is how it works for us. For white people, you're already likely to be born into a middle-upper class family. You're already going to a good middle school, getting good grades, going to a good high school, being encouraged to do better, getting into a great college, getting a high paying job. For us, the first step, which is going to a good school, doesn't exist.

Statistically, bad schools have a low graduation rate. Statistically, zoned schools in poor neighborhoods are bad. Statistically, white people have a better shot at making it to the top. For us it's just a fluke, and requires the iron will that 90% of humans lack by default.

If you were subjected to this injustice, you would be agreeing with me & everyone else who says that education is one of the defining factors of success and failure. The fact that you think we have the ability to be successful despite having a poor education shows that you actually have no clue who what when where or why you're talking about.

i'm not sure what you mean, perry is right in saying that black people (and others) were victims of legitimate, institutionalized, legally recognized and accepted de jure discrimination that definitely had a substantial impact on their ability to be successful and competitive in the economy, and that these things happened all the way up into last century. obviously, even if the legal barriers are removed, the effects those policies had still remained, and the children of those who experienced those effects directly inherited those problems.
