Cant use a sai picture as an avatar?

I drew a Christmas avatar, and I cant use it. I don't have the full version of sai. It wouldn't let me open pictures that I drew in sai before, so I tried to open them with other files, and the only one that worked was the sai file. I use win rar to open sai. Help?
