I honestly, think he is joking.

what if he really does, though

i dont watch pewdiepie but if he is joking and hes using haters to sub to him for 50m thats a loving gay move

Watching the video, everything he says in the video is pretty true. Maybe he's trying to take a stance about Youtube's stuffty changes which I can respect.
The context is that Youtube sucks basically. Though it is true that he's pretty much joking about it, though unlike other "jokes" he does take a pretty serious stance on it at one point. Argruably it could also just be a PR stunt but we'll see, it's inevitable he'll sooner or later hit 50 mil.

Urgh, personally, i can't stand watching this video even.
I used to be subscribed to him, watch a lot of his videos and i am not gonna say that he changed.
He might have, but i have for sure.
Oh well.

More on topic, that would be a weird thing to do for him, though i am sure he would be fine on subscribers with a new channel as soon as he mentions it on one of his social media things.
Including stufftons of "dead" subscribers.
And no this situation won't change.
Youtube wants to and HAS to change every once in a while.
It has to try and innovate to try and improve it's product and it will not be all good all the time.
I have had the subscription page favorited and open since i heard about this problem actually quite a while ago.
As he said, i don't really care about the recommended stuff, most of it is meh.
Rarely i find myself using the recommended videos feature.
Most of the things i subscribe to or am subscribed to i found through friends or cooperative videos of two (or more) channels.

If it's not a joke it might cause YT to snap to attention

he probably has enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life already so

If it's not a joke it might cause YT to snap to attention
This is what makes me think he's serious

Besides PewDiePie, Jacksepticeye and CinnamonToastKen have been complaining about Youtube's shenanigans lately with unsubscribing people, hiding subscriptions, drops in statistics, etc, so since PewDiePie is actually one of the biggest celebrities on Youtube, he might actually be serious and wants to go through with this in order to wake Youtube up
