What it teaches your kid depends on what the parent says after the spanking.
nope. it doesn't matter what you say, it teaches them that violence is a solution. if you explicitly tell them that violence is wrong right after, then what they learn is that they can't trust their parents to do the right thing. anything else you could possibly tell them would not make them understand that violence isn't a solution
Also spanking them doesn't teach them that violence solves their problems. If you as their parent had a problem and the parent responded in violence or aggression, then that would be teaching the kids that violence solves problems
why do you think that a child would be less likely to think what a parent does to them is right, than to think that what the parent did to someone else was right?

I never said or implied that it's right or not? I was just giving an example of what "teaching them that violence solves their problems" really is?

Do you have anything to back that up? I don't solve my problems by resorting to violence at all. Most of the friends I grew up with in similar household standards have not done so. I think there are more factors to this that you are overlooking.

bitch spanking is just a slap on the ass it's not gonna break a kids loving ass bones and give them ptsd

I don't think people here don't know well enough about the fine line between a spanking and a beating. It makes me think that they think we're taking baseball bats to their rear-ends.

i was spanked as a kid and now i have a spanking special interest
ban spanking

A baseball bat is one thing, but a boner....

"ass bones"
anyway, foxscotch is bein dum!!
if a child is too handicapped to connect the dots between
1 - doing something wrong (2 - getting yelled at for it) 3 - getting spanked for it
then there is no hope for that child, my parents never had to explain why they spanked me, i knew i forgeted up and i deserved punishment.

this just in:

kids who have never been spanked explain the terrible, horrifying, and traumatic outcomes of spanking.

it doesn't have to be traumatizing to be abuse

I was regularly spanked as a kid
I think I turned out fine (at least as far as that goes), in the long run, but not everyone will
spanking alone will probably not be that bad for the kid but it can turn into fear and distrust. you shouldn't be afraid of your parents. that's a recipe for disaster. that's how you get kids who hide mistakes like wrecking a car from their parents. you want your children to be able to come to you for help when they do something wrong, not to keep it from you out of fear for being hit

I'd like to believe that you're deliberately misunderstanding. the alternative would be sad

I was spanked as a kid and I don't fear my dad. I only really "fear" him because he has the most stubborn attitude and train of thought and gets pissed if you don't think the way he thinks
