I know it's off topic and redundant, but that video is so awfully stupid and i'm surprised people can't see through it.

If you got a sentence that said 'Circle the third word of this sentence" and you were illiterate, how would you even know to do it? You wouldn't know what the word circle means, and you wouldn't know what the word third means, so you couldn't answer the question.

It's loving stupid holy christ

that's louisiana
but nonetheless it's bullstuff
yeah it's not the same one in the amazingatheist video but it's pretty similar. It's 100% meant to keep black people from voting. (Added more quotes to make it clear that it's bullstuff)

And I'm fairly certain we all know this, aside from the ongoing joke, are you trying to imply that this 'mental condition' ban would opress people?

I may agree, unless three things can be made for a voting test:

1. Identification, I don't care how, whether you have it, or the state/county has it, IDGAF you need to be Identified as a US Citizen.
2. The Answer Sheet must be given to the state or federal government for screening and verification. (this ensures no 'lousina' like issues can arise)
3. This Test must verify, not literacy, not 'mental issues' overall, but a proper understanding of current politics, and more importantly, an understand on what they are voting for. (Like voting for someone because they believe in office they are capable of literally anything, would raise red flags.)

and most of all, these tests must not be immediate for banning voters, but instead just be required for the people to understand that voters are understanding and capable for what they are voting for.

This is more a census, to see what the average age of understanding is, and if that matters, or IQ, and if that matters. ETC.

god no we can't ban people with lower IQs from voting

yeah tbh some kind of index of how informed the voter base is would be interesting to see. i think the idea of banning people from voting through an arbitrary politics quiz is a little silly, but that would be legitimately nice information

we'd never have another republican in office again
