After a good while of scholars settling in Dorovon and learning the local culture and ways, eventually a mission begins to make its way to Dorovon with a letter given to the new First Prince Oaván requesting permission for the mission to spread the word of God, and help Dorovons people establish schools, hospitals, and abbeys for people to worship.

Oaván is not opposed, and allows freedom of worship of the Florelan god, yet unfamiliar to him.  He shows curiosity in the concept of this god, and requests further information, as Florelan culture has brought great things to Dorovan.

Many learned men seem very keen to step up and join Oaván's court to teach him the way of Christ- though a few stand out. Thin and sickly gaunt as though he's a skeleton with skin on its bones, a particularly zealous man with a somewhat stern disposition. The other is a humble eunuch, bald and rounded out- a man with pagan sympathies though still very much a learned believer of Christianity- of course there is a certain air about him. Both seem like good choices for learning the way of god, though both with their quirks.

Oaván, noticing that each man has a differing demeanor and dogma, cannot accept either single candidate.  He places them in court rotations, one being the counselor of the summer, and one being the counsellor of the winter.  He hopes to use this method to draw out conclusions of what is practiced by each man, and what is common amongst them.  Additionally, this gives each man a season to minister to Oaván, and a season to minister to the people.

     After decades of partying, a particular fat man with a curly mustache dies at age 78.  The aged man was reported dead by three temple harlots, who had spent the night with him at his manor.  The man, who still reeks of liquor, has been moved to a private cold chamber and has been stuffed into a coffin in order to best preserve his body.  His 12 daughters and 17 sons are to decide what to do with the body, either to bury it in Florela, as per Florelan custom, bury it in Dorovan, or to burn it on a pyre and send it out to sea on a grave-boat, as per Dorovian custom.
