banning art from my server right now. no fun allowed

****a stem major enters the room
He looks over to see someone drawing in a sketchbook
Feeling FURIOUS the stem major approaches the art student and says,
"IN BETTER THAN YOU IM BETTER gunNA BE MAKING 6 FIGS A YEAR BETTER THAN WORK AT GOOGLE THAN YOU IM BETTER THAN YOU IM BETTER THAN YOU"

depends. are you trying to make a living off it? is it only a personal hobby? or you arnt a creater, you just enjoy seeing it.

if you went to a fine arts school because you are a pretentious hippy about it, than yes its very very bad. you wasted time and you will be poor and useless.

I like the idea of art a lot. There are many pieces I love and many I hate. But, I would say art is good.

I feel like "art" should refer to stuff made for the common good and not for self-enrichment (e.g. money)
Whereas everything else would be "entertainment" or "decoration." Note that this designation isn't inherently negative.

art burnt my ice cubes and made my skin fall off.
art doesn't want you to know about the seventh continent, geronimo

that's why you double-major in engineering and arts kids
so you have a backup procedure in place

Double-major in business or accounting. Engineering is fine and all, but it isn't necessarily as much of a catch-all as business or accounting. stuff, all you have to do is get certified in excel or powerpoint.

art is just a form of ego trip for con artists and idiots/druggies. it has literally no purpose.

so you'll love art then

ech, this guy is bein really pretentious and i definitely don't agree with what he's saying. art is art, i don't see why it should be necessary to spend time actively trying to form a thesis that invalidates other people's work. man, it'd make me feel like stuff if i put time and effort into something i was proud of and then some dude in front a greenscreen professed that it wasn't "real art" or that it wasn't worth anything. it's not even constructive or anything, it's just elitist and dismissive smh

also aside from my opinion, i'm p sure the same thing has technically happened with every edgy art movement
