Making Hats for Hatmod

Hello! I would like to make some hats for the Hatmod mod, but I'm not sure where to start, because I don't know if there is a template to use or anything, but I do have the right tools to model, so you can leave me be on that. I currently use Blender to model for Blockland, but if there's any template for modelling hats for hatmod somebody could show me, please do so ASAP. Thank you!

I would just download the blockhead ref https://www.dropbox.com/s/ds5s8g0c1w04s28/Blockhead_Ref.obj?dl=1 and model your hat on that. When you're finished, just take the mountpoint from any other hat.

Thanks, but would you happen to know how to texture the model in Blender?

apply materials and name the materials the name of the color/texture file you want them to have. if you're using ports exporter, you can also adjust the material color setting and then have ports automatically generate a texture with that material name on export.

you can use the blender noob to pro wikibook to figure out how to properly make materials and apply them

however be aware that ports exporter doesnt export colors exactly as listed in blender - you'll likely need to go back and edit the texture files to get the exact right color. my guess as to why this is the case is cause port included considering some other material property when deciding the color to export.
