"Obsidian is involved."

oh hell yea this better happen

As much as I would want this to happen, Obsidian just started working on Pillars of Eternity 2, Obsidian making another Fallout is a dream come true for me however I doubt they're going to be making it soon.

this is a pretty reliable source so i can only hope for the best

yeah they've apparently been right on game leaks multiple times in the past.

this sounds great and all but I have a few issues with this

- Pretty sure the employees at Obsidian are not the same that developed F:NV, I could be wrong but I'm certain that a lot of those dev's are no longer at the company so this may not even live up to it

- Why New Vegas again? We've seen the Mojave already, and it was fantastic, if you're going to re-create another Fallout environment go do FO2's Bay Area so we get a glance at San Francisco post-war, or even better go explore a new environment entirely.

It'd likely be an expanded and updated version of the map, many years after (before?) NV

I totally agree with the second part. Why couldn't it be something other than the mojave? We've seen it already, and it was great. However, it would be refreshing to see a new area such as New Orleans where we see mutant alligators or mosquitoes. Or maybe Seattle, since I read on Reddit that it would be a reasonable place due to the a submarine place that holds a lot of nukes and the Boeing Production Facility and Airfield (self-explanatory). And although different employees may be working at Obsidian, I'm pretty sure they won't fail to meet expectations and make a better game than Fallout 4.

NV's director j.e. sawyer is still at obsidian, but the lead designer (?) chris avellone left in 2015

Don't buy any fallout game unless obsidian is making it.

i guess the rumor just fellout

o stuff Seattle sounds amazing for a Fallout game, New Orleans sounds great and all but that sounds like DLC content to me, Fallout's roots have always been more "northern" to me in both world and soundtrack (Washington DC, Bay Area, New England). But now I just really want to see a Fallout game in Seattle, the hangar and all that sounds great for exploration.

That's good at least, hope they have the same writers though.

I think the writers are the most important part of making an rpg game. Let's hope they have the same ones.

I would definitely be up for re-exploring the areas of Fallout 1/2. They've not been seen in a 3D game yet and are obscure to a lot of the modern Fallout players who aren't so interested in turn-based isometric RPGs.

I don't want to visit New Vegas again because we've already explored it in detail. I don't want to see the exact same towns, factions and vaults.

I don't want to see the setting in the future because NV had so many varied endings that it would be impossible to follow all of them. They would definitely end up making several endings canonical which upsets others who never chose those endings.

I don't want NV in the past either because it would be so limited in story. I don't want to see the return of Mr House nor the First Battle of Hoover Dam as those are events so close to NV that you constantly hear about them. What else is there to explore if we go back earlier to pre-Strip or pre-Caesar? We can't even explore Nellis or the Brotherhood as those interactions in NV were unique.

If we revisit anywhere it should be FO1/2, as at least we would be at least 100 years later if we're set around or after FO4.

old world blues 2 please
