why even post here if you could just play some other RPG?

ability to buy and furnish house

Player customization in general is strictly important to a multiplayer game. Being able to take the mechanics and make something you identify with is important to a lot of players, and opening that avenue will attract way more than not having any sort of customization.

Especially including building aspects in a building game.

being able to rent out an unfurnished room in an "inn" or something  and then allowing the player to place down some props and whatnot inside would be p dope

I got close to doing something like this with conans prop mod that was edited a bit, however its completely broken now rofl. If Conan fixes the prop mod this is completely do able.

Just use Zeblotes Duplicator.

Just use Zeblotes Duplicator.
How would that work? Can you set zones with it or something?

It wouldn't work without heavy editing.

Can you set dups with prices?

It wouldn't work without heavy editing.

It can work with a little support script and it's what I'm going to use for my prop system in LoB2.

Yeah.

Can you set dups with prices?

I don't see why not.

And to the rest of this discussion.

If a proper RPG is going to be made, best not to rely on third party tools to get main features working. Who is going to use the prop tool/duplicator? An admin? The player at will? Both of those options could lead to bad things.
Would be better to script a room system itself.

Who is going to use the prop tool/duplicator?

The support script itself.

Also, using 'third party tools' (duplicator) framework (especially since it's written pretty decent) will make development and implementing such a feature a lot faster. Shouldn't re-create the wheel if you don't have to.

Borrowing the code itself isn't a bad idea. But toward the rest of the discussion, sound a lot like "oh just use x tool and it should all go good."
