Author Topic: Annoying Orange supporters are threatening to boycott Budweiser over their Super Bowl ad  (Read 9449 times)

what point are you even trying to make here lmao
he's slowly understanding the reality that hypocrisy is a cold wet slap to the face

how loving dare people reference important things happening in the world

oversimplification of the loving century

This was developed before Annoying Orange was even in office you tit. It's been mentioned a million times already

was it within the period of when he proposed the "muslim ban"? I doubt it was any other time before that

People are still pussies if they get this offended by a beer commercial. Looks like some of them are in need of a budweiser-free safe space

yeah it's like they haven't done stupid politically motivated things in the past oh wait

he's slowly understanding the reality that hypocrisy is a cold wet slap to the face

the point was not that I'm a hypocrite, it's that Red was a hypocrite

this still doesn't make sense, not on just an ideological stand-point but a marketing one too
why advertise to only half the people in this country? they're the only ones who will listen to this stuff

you know there are articles from leftists claiming not that the ads were too political, but that they were not political enough?
no one cares about politics when they're watching football, you have a divisive sport and you're going to try to chop people up into even tinier groups? what is wrong with you?

why advertise to only half the people in this country? they're the only ones who will listen to this stuff because its an issue that affects the entire world, not just half of the loving american population. the ad is aimed to remove stigma or discourage racism against immigrants. that's not something political, it's a real issue that affects everyone. they're literally sending a good message, not a political one like "Annoying Orange sucks/hillary is a criminal".

What would be a typical retaliation to the advertizement? "forget you budweiser i'm going to be a richard to every immigrant i see now!' It's literally common sense that they're trying to convey, like "don't bully people" or "dont steal from people"

no one cares about politics when they're watching football, you have a divisive sport and you're going to try to chop people up into even tinier groups? what is wrong with you? apparently people care about politics while watching football. a bunch of people clearly cared so much they decided to boycott it, and you cared enough to write this whole mess about the country not having enough 'self-control' to limit a company's freedom of speech

the point was not that I'm a hypocrite, it's that Red was a hypocrite
lmao what, you just made up a quote and accused me of being a hypocrite
meanwhile "hey lol these conservatives are waaaaaaaay overblowing it lol stupid conservatives"

but i mean do you bro

the point was not that I'm a hypocrite, it's that Red was a hypocrite
You're defending a population that is apparently offended by the idea that you shouldn't be a richard to a group of people.

Really, though. Think about it for a moment. You're even going so far to say "how dare someone exercise their freedom of speech on an issue. our country has clearly lost self control" Everything that you've highlighted thus far is dangerously reminiscent of an SJW argument against Milo or PJW

let's be clear here I'm trying to add context as to why they may have boycotted Budweiser
I wouldn't have done it myself and it's kind of childish

and looking at all the other ads that played, this is on the milder side of political, but that doesn't make it not political
I honestly would've boycotted Audi or the anti-wall people if I were them, then again I don't typically boycott anything

the response could also be "forget you budweiser, do you think I'm stupid? I get it, stop shoving it down my throat"
didn't you find it at least mildly annoying in school how they taught the "don't do drugs" "don't be a bully" "don't rape people" stuff constantly (at least once per grade for me) as if you didn't get it the first time?
adding onto that the political things that they've done in the past, and it's really easy to construe this as "budweiser thinks we're anti-immigrant tribals"

The anti-immigration that the person in the ad faced is a certain degree of wrong that the ad is trying to address. When someone makes an ad saying "don't lynch people" the typical response wouldn't be "what they think that because I support Annoying Orange I want to lynch people? they think i'm tribal?" it would be "yes, that's a horrible thing to do. let's stop it" If you are a conservative or republican and you are alright with immigrants who came here at any period of time, and by alright I mean you don't go over to random muslims in the street and tell them to go back to your country, you should have nothing worry about because this ad isn't targeting you. It's targeting the people who are directly tribal towards immigrants.

They're not trying to shove a political message down your throat. If you honestly think it's alright to be a richard to immigrants then you're objectively a horrible person. If you believe that being a richard to immigrants is a bad thing, then you shouldn't have a single issue with this ad; its a success story about an immigrant who managed to beat all odds and stigma and found a successful business, not about how Annoying Orange is an evil national socialist and all white people are tribal.

The people boycotting this ad think that common courtesy is a leftist mind-trick slash political statement. You're clearly better than these people, don't stoop that low. Just keep it simple and say "i respect their right to boycott but they're still dumb"

Are there any other sources outside of the one in the OP to verify this?

the source links to budweiser's twitter page and if you look at the comments pertaining to their ad, there are definitely some peeved meatheads
